How To Ftp To Your Xbox

No...this shows you how to FTP to your Xbox...now you have to download the maps, edit them and then upload them back to your Xbox overwriting the old ones. BE SURE TO BACKUP YOUR ORIGINAL MAPS.

I'm stuck. I have been reading what everyone is having problems with and trying to fix my problems without asking the same questions. My xbox will not connect via FTP. My IP is set to automatic (DHCP) My server number is 192.168.0.3 I'm pretty sure it's not the stock number. I have tried everything everyone has said and it still says connection timed out.Can someone help me?

Is your Xbox and computer connected to the same network? Or do you have 2 routers or something weird going on like that? That IP is definitely DHCP so I dont see why you are having problems with it.

Also some of the time when the connection is timed out...something is blocking the connection between your xbox and computer

Is your firewall allowing the connection?..if not turn it off or allow it to acces to your xbox
Or it could be your anti-virus blocking the connection..u may want to check that as well

It is just the one router and yes on the same network

the firewall was disabled. Does the smb number ip and the network ip number have to be diff? mine is. not sure if that is screwing it up or not. really lost. like i said , I've been reading for awhile looking things over so I don't just waste someones time helping me. Don't know who to ask or where to as well.

everything from what you are saying says it should work but, still don't. i turn the xbox on let it sit at the evox dash screen from start up and wait. am i missing something?

I had the same problem...
accept my problem was my firewall was blocking the connection
u may want to try other cables or another FTP program
like

FlashFXP
SmartFTP
or CuteFTP

Tell me what it says for ip address and default gateway
Not the autoconfig ip

here is another thing i found lastnight while screwing around to see what the numbers said. I have unleash x evox, msdash and xboxdash on my hdd still. i can choose between evox and unleashx to run. on default evox starts, occasionally unleash will start instead. now, unleash says it's ip addy is 198.162.0.2

I think i'm just overlooking something. I don't think it could be fu@# up this bad! I don't know what else to look for to see if it matches up or what not. I'm totally lost and now have others scratching their heads. If you have any questions you want to know or check to see if everything matches up (numbers,hdd, whatever) please ask or tell me what to do. please..

I got it everyone!I had to use the unleash x dash and change the ip addy and when I click save and reboot my xbox, it wouldn't save as the number. haha my xbox just sucks! now I got everything figured out and transfered fine. Now when I load my snes or neogen emulator I can't do anything. the neogen is like frozen, like the controller don't work. My snes I can choose the game cause i downloaded it and transfered it from a disk, but when i chose the game and it loads, nothing. No controls. Like my controller is unplugged. Any ideas?

Yeah, I was going to make sure that you were saving and exiting after you had changed to DHCP. When looking at your IP the xbox was giving and your gateway IP via cmd prompt, you'll see that your IP on the xbox needed to be something lie 192.168.2.xxx

i use the FlashFXP program and i connect with my xbox just fine, but when i tried to transfer one of the modded maps to the xbox, it disconnects from the right address and goes to another address. and before anybody bites my virtual head off, i havnt seen this in a tutorial, and ill apologize in advance if it is in one and i didnt see it.
