ok i need some help im not a noobie or anything but i cant ftp my xbox at my house for some reason can anybody help me? i can do it at my dads but not here

Tells us what your set up is like at home. Through a router? XO cable? Is everything connected properly?

What's the IP your Xbox is showing you? And is it set to static?

ya its static and its 192.168.0.2

You need to change it to DHCP. So set static to no, SAVE AND EXIT (don't just hit B) and then restart. Get the new IP and you shoudl be good to go.

I have a hard modded xbox and i've been running Avalaunch as my dash board for nearly 2 years without having no problem what so ever. But, today when i was trying to install XBMC as my dashboard, i needed to rename the original boot file (usually avalaunch.xbe) with the new one that i got from some website and i'm pretty sure i followed all the instruction correctly inorder to intall XBMC. And yet, Now when I boot with chip i go straight to the regular xbox starting screen instead of booting to avalaunch.
I've tried numerous ways to fix this thing, but cannot seem to connect to my xbox via FTP since i can nolonger boot to avalaunch. I just need to rename the file to as it originally was.

Any suggestions?

If you are booting to the ms dash, just put some linux files on there, load it up with splinter cell, mechassault, or 007 AUF, you should get an IP with that and then you're golden. I'm sure you know what to do once you get an IP

do u mean how do u transfer them from ur computer? action replay or how do u have a modded dash and a ms dash?

^Yes...trasferring those files from my computer. I guess the only way to do it is using action replay and memory card, which i don't have one and nearly impossible to get those from stores now days.

Yes. It's basically the same thing as this...without the wires I use to do it all the time.

Your tut says I need to go through a router, so I want to see im my setup is workable.

Upstairs is my parents PC, which is connected to our wireless router. (BTW, there's no way I'm allowed to use that PC...)
In the basement is my desktop and laptop, both wirelessly connected to the router.
Is there a way to FTP using my laptop? (Cuz quite frankly, my desktop sucks...) Or do I need to drag everything upstairs and figure out some unGodly way to hook through my router?
We have a linksys router and my desktop has a linksys card, if that helps any (my laptop's is built in)
Hopefully that made a little sense .

I guess I'm just asking if I can stick the cord into the back of my laptop and have this work lol.

You'll need a wireless connector for the Xbox which will be around $100 I believe...unless you have your router right next to your TV and Xbox.

so thats all you have to do.. now that all the folders came up on the right side.. and now the modded map is on ur xbox once u modded it?
