Re: How to Copy Xbox Games

Thanks for the tutorial and software links! I am having a problem that I am hoping someone can help me with. Today I tried to back up my copy of Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory. This is the first time I have tried to back up one of my games. I got everything working just like your tutorial showed. The files are too large to burn to one single layer disc, so I deleted the "Dashupdate.xbe" and "Update.xbe". The files were still too large so I deleted the file folder "palvideos". I made the iso and burned it to a DVD-R. When I try to load the game, it freezes on the loading screen and does nothing (on my softmodded Xbox). I tried just deleting the files from "palvideos" and left the folder there, still wouldn't work. I tried a DVD+R and the Xbox will not even recognize there is a disc there. Then I tried to back up another game of mine, Dead Or Alive Xtreme Beach Volleyball. Everything worked fine and the game runs just like the original. Any ideas on why I am having problems with Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory?

Thanks!

Re: How to Copy Xbox Games

I have tried to back up another game now called "BLACK". This time the game is small enough that I don't have to remove any files at all. I am using UnleashX for my soft-mod. I used Craxton 4 and DVD Decrypter. Everything seemed to work well in the disc creation process. I get the same issue I am having with Splinter Cell Chaos Theory (as mentioned above). The dashboard shows that it is a game disk in the tray, but when I tell it to load the game, it freezes on the loading screen and does nothing. I am using TDK DVD-R disks. I am really at a loss as to why this is not working. So far I have only been able to back up one of my games, DOAXVB. Any suggestions?

Re: How to Copy Xbox Games

what disc drive is in your xbox

a good test to see if the xbox is readng the disc right is if you have xbmc installed
make shure your skin is set to mc 360 and turn off auto run for xbox games
then while still in dash insert game

if it is a disc error or just that your dvd drive will not read that media type
the bar on bottom of screen in the mc 360 dash will just constantly say reading if its missing files or other thing associated with mistakes in creating iso then it will usually say dvd

ps just install a larger hd quit wasting money and time messing with discs lol

I don't know what xbmc is. I am using the softmod that AzzidReign recommended for first timers in his softmod tutorial. I tried the other one which I guess more people use, but it didn't seem as nice to me. Maybe because I couldn't figure it out as easily. I don't know what the mc 360 dash is either. Sorry. When I tell it to load the disc, it switches to a black screen that has the name of the game and says "loading" but freezes. I thought perhaps the drive may not be reading the discs, but I did get one game to work using the same media I have tried for the others.

I agree, installing a larger hard drive is the best way to go. I have been out of work for a while though and funds are tight. I did change out my TiVo hard drive a couple years ago and had the old drive kicking around. It is only a 40gb drive, but it beats the stock 8gb Xbox drive. A couple days ago I finally got around to putting it in the Xbox, and it works perfectly! I really need to get something larger in the future though. 500 gigs or a terabyte would rock.

Re: How to Copy Xbox Games

you dont need the hassle of all this, AzzidReign I Know it makes sence, but have you ever tryed the *REMOVED* for xbox ? *LINK REMOVED* supports the same fetures but a lot quicker, faster and easyer. They also got something called a *REMOVED* thing that lets you burn all your old games so they dont get scratched or lost. *REMOVED* is on of the best burning things out there from my point of view, all the others are slow and .... crapy :>

should try it ...

Hope that helps.

PS: Also got a tutorial on how to flash ur own console in matter of minutes.
