Microsoft Dashboard Details for Softmodding! How to update your MS Dash

For some reason I don't think you did it right. Don't have your xbox plugged into your network. Load h2, select xbox live and it will update.

Don't know what to tell you. Just trying softmodding and see if it will let you. If you dont have the current dash it shouldn't let you softmod.

when i try update my xbox all it says create new account? do i have to get a xbl acc?

oh and sorry for to replys but im using a newer games then h2 but all it says create account

my modded dash is unleash X
would i be able to dual-boot with this dashboard so i cold go on live????

If you set the dual boot up then yes. You could cold boot too. But that is the highest released dash. And you are running a v1.6 xbox. Sucks for you

From which menu should i select Xbox Live? The main menu of the xbox or the main menu of the game? because if i select xbox live, then it takes me to sign up for xbox live. I gon't get this, can u help me?

Yeah you just go into the "game" and select xbox live, make sure the ethernet cable IS NOT in the back of the xbox, and then it will go to the troubleshooting screen.

yeah, it tells me to create a new xbox live account. Do you need to make an account in order to do this? my ethernet is not connected at the back and thats why it goes into troubleshoot. I am using conflict global terror year of release 2005. Halo 2 was 2004. So i guess it should work.

Lol my bad, i just checked it and waited 15 secs for it to scroll up. Mine's already updated, no wonder it wasn't working. thanks anyways. The tutorials are great!

What if your XBOX is bloody old like ancient and DOESN'T have XBOX Live Option on dashboard (they originally shipped without Live Option) and NO NUMBERS in System INFO : Any chance to run UPDATE with HALO 2 ??

YEs it worked, Today I finally found an original NTSC Halo2 and able RUN Live Update with my genuine Ntsc Xbox. Thanks AzzidReign.

ok i put a clean halo 2 disc in the xbox did all the steps above and it stopped midway and said the disc was dirty or damaged.. plus when it went to the dashboard it could not connect.. what do i do?


ok i got it to update but it wont let me create a new account on xbox live..

Try using another game that is XBL compatible. One that is cleaner.

Yeah, that should work just fine. It was released after H2 so I can't see why it wouldn't.
