u have to hook ur xbox hdd up to the prime master ide cable to work u put the HBHDM cd in and u boot it up then u take the xbox hdd out of the xbox when it is on and u plug it in to
the PC IDE cable just swicth the IDE cable with the hdd and leave the xbox hdd pluged in to the power surplie then clike rebuild C drive do not lock the hdd if u dont have the eeprom.bin file on the cd atfer tha gets done put the xbox hdd back in to the xbox and it should work fanil

OK i have questions. Ihave an extra pc that has a floppy drive, cd reader, and Windows 98 on it. I don't want to screw up my new pc. can i use this pc if i burn every file needed to disc and loaded on the old pc?

This worked perfect.

The only thing I did different, is after I swapped the IDE cable over I then booted xboxhdm and built the new C partition.

This was for a xbox that was modded, but the chip burned out about a year ago and was left broken this entire time. I was able to hotswap the HD (300 gig), then softmod it and install XBMC as the main dash.. I changed over to a softmod that uses only the F partition for most of the drive and still have the 70 games that where on the HD prior to the chip giving out..

This is the best way to go, I recommend this hotswap method..

xbox Harddrives have to be locked for a soft mod to work correctly i asume, i cant remember for sure.

How would I install a softmod with access to the hardrive? Where can I obtain the softmod file and how would I use it to softmod (where would I put the file in the hard drive).
