| 7S Enthusiast | Make Your Own Action Replay OK so I live in Nevada and in the area that I'm in it seems almost god damn impossible to find an AR in any of the stores. So here we go. Things Needed: 1. A Microsoft brand memory card. 2. The AR Software 3. An old USB cable. From an old mouse or whatever piece of hardware you have that you are willing to cut up. 4. A tiny phillips head screwdriver to open the memory card 5. A soldering iron. 6. Solder. Steps: 1. Take out all 4 screws on the backside of the memory card. ![]() 2. Now it should look like this. ![]() 3. Now you need to cut the USB cable to about 6 inches long to be really safe just in case you **** up stripping the wires and need to do it again. (If you see any extra wires that are not green, black, red, or white. Don't worry about those you can cut those off.) ![]() 4. Soldering time! Solder the cables to the terminal things just like the picture. ![]() 5. By now it should look something like this. ![]() 6. Now we need to modify the one half of the case which has nothing attached to it so that the USB cable will fit through the case. (To make the cut I actually heated up my soldering iron and melted the plastic to make the cable fit.) ![]() ![]() ![]() 7. Now put the 4 screws back in and if you havn't already, download and install the AR software found here. 8. Once you have the software installed plug the AR into a USB port, windows will prompt to install driver. Select install from a specific location and browse to your install directory for Action Replay . The driver is in the drivers folder. (Default would be "C rogram Files/Datel/ActionReplay Xbox/Drivers").And the final product should look somewhat similar to this. ![]() There... Were done. | Novice | Or, if you dont have a soddering gun, or you dont want to mess anything up, follow the instructions in this link. This way, you dont need to open your mem card, just split a connection cord for your controller, strip a usb cord, and wire them together. I didnt crimp mine like in the link, just taped them worked fine. ed2k-it :: View topic - Homemade Xbox Action Replay and Xbox-PC controller hack Hope that helps |

| Premium Member ![]() | I think when you plug it back into the controller, you just put the memory card into your controller. Thats my guess. |

| Junior Member | also if you have a jump drive and a usb extension cord or hub, you can splice the extension cord to a controller cord and plug your jump drive directly to the xbox. no iron needed, only electrical tape. but electrical tape is unstable. and you also need to edit your jump drives product id and vendor id into the action replay software to be able to use it. if anyone wants a full tutorial on this way, just ask! |

| Novice | I just did something on this order! Instead I hooked up a female usb end up to the controller cord that hooks to the xbox then formatted a flashdrive to work in the xbox and plugged it in. This is a good way too. But I ended up with around 500 MB memory card! I could also use my external and have 320 GIGS  I may show how I did it too later. |

| Member | AR wont read flash and neither will the Ms dashboard so technically you didnt make a 500 MB memory card. Last edited by Brown Wigga; 03-01-2008 at 11:27 AM. |
