ok so now i have a new problem i cant get to my modded dash. i fixed everything else and all im not deleting stuff like crazy or anything i just cant get to my modded dash. Im not sure what the technical name for this is but i have to reset my clock every i turn on my box and thoe my red LED is illuminated i cannot get to the unleashX dash. i cant FTP either because i cant get to that dash, iv re-softmodded my box many times yet to no avail. No problem doing things but i need some files and i need to ftp to get them so yea...plz help me out.GOD HELP THE NEXT PERSON TO BUMP MY PLEA!

let me guess clock comes up everytime and ms dash appears insted of ux right?

set the time and date power off and quickly power back on it should work oh one last thing if you leave your xbox unplug more then 3 hrs from power outlet the clock thing with ms dash will come back .....

when i try to go back to the retail dashboard, it says service required call customer support. but when i go to my unleash x dashboard, it works fine. what should i do?

What tutorial did you use? Did you choose dual boot open ms dash?

i need help with error 21. Okay, this is whats going on, i have an active xbox live account and the network setting in my UNLEASHX dashboard is set to DHCP. My Problem: When i go to sign into xbox live it says my account isnt valid, which again it is, so i hit "A" to attempt to validate it. When i hit "A" it attempts to do an update on live. It gets 75% done then it says if failed to update. I hit okay then it goes to and stays at a black screen. Does anybody know whats going on? Do i have to go to my network settings BEFORE i softmod the xbox and set it to DHCP? Im not sure if i did this before i softmodded it. EIther way, it wont let me get on xbox live.
Question 2: The first day i was modding my maps flash fxp was working very good, i ftp'd at least 6 different times during that day. On the second day i attempted to go to my modded dash and retrieve my CURRENT IP and it read 0.0.0.0 and didnt give me any of the mac addresses as well, which again, all of this worked perfectly the day before. Since i can't get my current ip, which changes everytime you turn on and off the xbox, i can no longer use flash fxp to transfer files onto my xbox, which in turn, cant ftp modded maps to my xbox. Does anybody know why this is going on as well? Im very sorry for the length, i just wanted to be as detailed as possible and leave nothing out.:unsure:

mine says the same thing jaxjags with a 21 in the left corner. Your having the same problem i am. I cant get to the ms dash with the disk tray open, which at first i was able to then it gave me this error the second day as my previous thread before this one indicated.

Hello, I am am Aaron and I just put this on my XBox and booted it. I have worked with programming in my experience and I know how some newb questions like mine can sound very idiotic. Here is my problem, for some reason, it will not allow me to create a MS Backup. I have tried the possible solutions in the F.A.Q. and they have not fixed my problem. I get an error box that says "Failure" and in the caption of it, it says "The last item was: Found MODDED FILES. Action: Rename" Any help is very much appreciated.

I would suggest unmodding your Xbox (restore the MS DASH). See if you can still get on live. Then go into my SID4 tutorial thread, get those files since they've been tweaked just a little bit and resoftmod with them.

As it says, you have modded files on your Xbox. That means you already have a modified Xbox. I would FTP to your Xbox to see if you have an MSBACKUP you can restore, if you do, then RESTORE MS DASH and then update to this SID 4.0 with the tutorial in my signature.

i just have quick question does it really make that much of a differance if i use a james bond platium hit i no it does with mechA but not in splintercell

It doesnt matter what game you use period...the game is only used to exploit the system to load the linux installer.

so why in all tut including yours it says to try not to get the platium hit because i no they patched it in mech so i was just wondering if they did it in james bond 2 cus thats the one my cos has -_- thx azzid

Oh, I misunderstood the question...I thought he was asking if it mattered between the 3 games. Yes, I highly recommend you use non-plat hits. I know 1 version of the plat hits works for 007, I think any play hits for SC works, but I'm not sure about MA.

sry my fault i worded it wrong the first time but im just wondering my friend already has a 007 platium hit if we try it and find out its not the right version will there be a chance of our xbox going haywire or can we just restart the xbox and have it be back at the ms / try a diff game

No, it just won't load the save. There is code inside certain versions that the gamesave exploits (fonts, sounds, etc) to make it so your Xbox can launch the linux installer. If those certain code segments aren't there, then your Xbox just won't load the gamesave.

Okey I've installed this softmod multiple times it works great when your on the installer but when you goto the actual dash i loose everything and i have to constantly change the input otherwise I'm getting a blue screen as though the x box became disconnected now it only does this when I'm using the component connectors on the Advanced HD pack is this pack not support when I'm using the Red yellow white connectors works like a charm. so I'm guessing theres something i need to change PLEASE help i've done this softmod so many time i Sware i could do this in my sleep. and i've must of unlocked and locked my hdd a millioin timese i'm hopting this won't do anything bad .. but okey so if anyone can shed some light on this because i'd really like to go back to red blue green with Red white connnectors on my Advanced pack.. i beleve its made by mad cats so anyone that can shed some light on this please HELP!! preferably before i decide to shot put this machine lol...

i'm using a 1.6 Xbox with xcalibure chip.. same 10 gig hdd i've done all my back ups for eproms and everything just seems to do this.. i tryed installing the hi def pack but no avail so i must be missing something here sometimes i wonder if the installer is even installing everythign ..

I've followed the tutorial at least 6 times now and everytime it doesn't work. I've done exactly what the tutorial says and I keep getting these same two problems. First of all I have a concern. As it's installing some of the files just seem to skip by. I've thought it was just going too fast to actually see them but I noticed the % complete bar didn't move at all like it did on some of the other files. This happens before and after it tells me to eject. Now, once it tells me to eject and I click yes... after it finishes whatever it does and goes back to the main menu I give it a moment and then press eject. The tray comes out about 1.5 or 2 inches and then goes back in, not giving me enough room or time to get the disc out. What causes this? Is there a simple fix? Now, I tried a couple things here but they all lead to me getting the System Failure (error 22) everytime. Says Dashboard executables not found on any of the following........
If you want the entire error message I'll give it. Also, I haven't messed with any files at all. I'm not experienced enough to be messing with all the files so I thought I'd just at least get the install completed. Oh yeah, If i press A during the message to restore the backups it doesn't work either. It'll tell me "Dash restored press A to reboot to it" after I've pressed a like 6 times then it'll reboot to this screen again. The only thing I can do is reboot to retail mode and put splinter cell back in and try and start over.

If you need any further information on this feel free to ask as I know sometimes I might not make much sense.


EDIT: I failed to mention that after failing so many times I tried using ITools which didn't even remotely work, it brings me to this menu where I can't move around anywhere and when I press a button it brings me (I think error 21) to this weird *** screen. I gave up on it, I also got another one to work bu it wasn't really installed like, I had to open it up through the save game everytime I wanted to use it (I'd prefer not to do that) but in opening it up I got FTP to work. I thought that SID 4 may have been corrupted using the Action Replay so I FTP'd it to the Xbox in what appeared to be the correct position (seeing as it loads up and all just like when I used the action replay). If there is a quick way to fix it using the FTP I'd appreciate that.
