SID 4 information, FAQ, and Troubleshooting

So, I followed the SID 4.0 instructions to the letter, but when I try to load the save game (in Mechwarrior, by the way) i get a black screen and the light glows solid orange. I've checked my dashboard version, it's 5960. Can anyone help, please?

theirs a conflict if you have a solid black screen and a orange led , this means ur on the linux menu but you cant view it , do you have the reg rca cables or r u using other cables? your mem card can also currpt these saves

i just installed SID and im at the dashboard, now that i want to mod halo 2, i have a red light, so how do i get rid of it?

red light is normal means the softmod is active look on the other threads i wont discuss modding halo nor i know so and fyi MODDING ON XBL GETS YOU BANNED regardless of any softmod! . what this does it hides your softmod but does not mean it will save you from getting banned if you mod anything on xbox live . reason why i added this is cuz many people think they can get away with this mod to save their mods from xbl from banning but its not like that

ok, excuse me for being a modding newb, but i just want to clear stuff up, i just finished installing the SID dashboard, i havnt modded any maps, and on the tutorial it says that red light means i can get permanently banned, so no matter wut i do, am i going to have this red light?

Ok my Xbox is being retarded. I have softmodded my Xbox like four times and unsoftmodded it successfully four times. But for some reason my Xbox won't let me create a MS backup any more. Are there any Mech Assault linux saves that have a format HDD option? Is that what I'd have to do? Thanks again guys!

If you can't make a backup, see if you can go to the next step by installing the softmod. If you've made a backup before, I'm thinking it should still be there so there is no need to back it up again.

i dont know whats wrong this was fine when i first had it.i soft modded my box and iv been ftping into and all but iv just been using the maps file i created in E never anything else,and now i boot my box and a bunch of options are gone.i cant go to MS dash by clicking on the ms dash words.also a lot of my menus are gone i had a bunch of them now im left with:MS dashboard,Reboot,Power off,settings,Backup thats all what do i do...i want to re-install the softmod and this time im going to choose unleash-X,anyway some1 HELP PLZ!!!:cry2:

ok now for some reason i cant get on live wtf i installed it right i changed it to dhcp and i cant get on so i change it back to static still cant get on i tried uninstalled but i still cant get on some1 help plz!

I SOFTMODDED MY XBOX BUT THEN I RAN INTO A PROBLEM I TRIED TO GO ONLINE BUT IT WOULDNT LET ME SOI DELETED ALL THE GAME SAVES FROM MY XBOX AND IT STILL WONT LET ME THE LED IS STILL TURNING RED EVERYTING I TURN ON MY XBOX DO YOU KNOW WHAT I SHOULD DO?

For one...where do we ever say that you should delete the gamesaves...I've always, ALWAYS have said to NEVER EVER delete the gamesaves. If you delete the gamesaves off your computer and start deleting ****, you don't deserve to have an Xbox...PERIOD.

well what about me i didnt delete anything i no i shouldnt have yet i cant get on live can u help me?i tried to sset it to dhcp but no then i tried to go back to static but no then i tried to uninstall but still no can u plz help,thx in advance

Ok, did you install SID4.0 Dual Boot MS dash OPEN option? Or not? If you did, then you must turn your Xbox on using the EJECT button and if you IP is still DHCP then you should be good to go online.

When i Installed it, my xbox acted wierd. I did what it said and played a game for a bit and then saved it and it was fine. I changed the static ip to dchp or whatever it is. Then after i hit save changes it went to the contact xbox screen. I rebooted it and it was fine. But on my other xbox that has unleashx on it, it allowed me to turn off the softmod, how do i do that. Another thing is that I can not go to the original dashboard. It says that C:xboxdash.xbe is not there. I backed up my dashboard why won't it go. Help please.

You backed it up, you didn't install it. If you want to get to the ms dash, you have to restore from backup.

You can't turn off the softmod, you have to uninstall.

Your Xbox that you can turn the softmod off with...well you used Krayzies installer, not SID. And if you followed my SID tutorial, you would be able to have the MS dash if you turned your Xbox on with the eject button...

hey guys so who's still having issues? AzzidReign it might sound that some of the users stil have acess to the old sid 4 , because one of the poster mentioned that ms dash didnt load and it asked about c xboxdash . xbe (#36) and as far as deleting the game saves sid 4 shouldnt allow you so im guessing some of these guys are using krazyzies installer
