This section was left blank because as far as I know samsung drive will not read +R or +RW unless your burner is setup the correct way with bitsetting and booktype adjusted. For more info on this read below. X-S member Thorn posted the info below.
If you selected the right DVD+ writer you can burn discs that are MORE compatible than -R using a feature called bitsetting or changing the booktype. Do a search on the cdfreaks forums or on dvdplusrw.org or even google. My Lite-On 811s Supports it ( as well as -R, too) and I paid under $120 for it. There are a few drives out there that do. Basically, it just changes how the disc is recognized by the device (i.e. the Samsung drive). Btw, I have the Samsung drive and it plays +R just fine w/ booktype set to DVD-ROM or DVD-R And my friends Panisonic DVD player will only play +R with the booktype set to DVD-ROM.

I'm assuming you're talking about the booktype setting for +R media. You need to find hacked firmware that has it changed. It'll void your warranty, etc, etc.

you know i like my xbox with the phillips drive.

it reads everything no issues.

it is quiet.

and it will even read disk buffed disks.
