Need help with modded xbox

Hello everyone!

Im really a noob to this issue, but i had my xbox modded with the xenoFX chip (think it was previously called aladdin). But everyone are talking about changing the dashboard..but how is this possible? Does it require another chip?

My xbox starts up as normal, only thing different is the "ExoX" logo at the top left corner of the screen that activates when i hold down the button. I am interested in maybe tweaking the box, so that i will be able to ftp stuff onto it.

I tried running a guide as to how i link PC and xbox, but the guide was not referring to my normal Xbox network settings, but instead talking about a different setup that came with a different chip which i dont have...

What to do? Hope someone cam help!

Chips use a bioses that lead to a certian spot. Usually evoxdash.xbe in the C partition. Just make a redirect.xbe that will lead to a dash folder on your E drive, or just paste the new dash in the C partition and rename the default.xbe to evoxdash.xbe

Thanks alot for your reply.. and i know that i could just have read a tutorial instead, but i dont understand the language you guys are speaking

My problem is that i cannot get my Xbox connected to my PC. I have 1 ethernet card, and a wireless for Internet. I have hooked the ethernet to the Xbox through a crossover cable. (I gathered both ends and saw that the connecting wires were not placed in the same order.. thats how i was told to check if i had a crossover cable).

Anyway, i assigned IP. 192.168.0.3 to my PC and with 255.255.255.0 as subnet mask and IP 192.186.0.3 to the Xbox. The tutorial i read also mentioned something about changing the the DNS settings for my Wireless, but that just made my Internet connection dissapear!!

I then tried ftp'ing with flashFXP..but it times out. Firewall deactivated, and i tried pinging the Xbox..no connection.
Various tutorials tells me to enter some netword setup.. but i only have the standard Xbox setup.. is this enough? And am i limited because my chip is this Evox chip..because everyone is talking about EvolutionX and what not.. are these chips or dashboards..? and what can i get with my mod? I would like to tweak my Xbox by uploading files to it, running this XBMC and maybe changing the Xbox menu...

What do you think?

Well, to tell where your dash is booting to, your gonna have to post your bios and I will open it up and see.

Man you really do get smart just by googling around..

Seems to me that the way i am gonna go, is to install the Slayers Evox onto my Xbox, and from there install the XBMC. Seems to me that this is the way to get the ftp mode unlocked in the Xbox..

Hmm ive seen some 500gb drives at a fairly resonable price..but i just dont want to take the top off the Xbox..

Another thing that i've learned, is that i have the philips drive, which dosen't work with my DVD-RW Plexomax discs..but works great with my Premium DVD+R (really cheap). Man this is a jungle..!
