BUt i noticed that when I First made the disc, it had one password from the eeprom, and now im using a different computer, and the eeprom has changed. what happened?

I would try remaking the ISO, throw your old HDD back into your Xbox and get a new EEprom backup, make sure you have the C partition in your ISO awsell. You can format your CD-RW, burn the new ISO and try to build from scratch again, if it's locked just go to the "Locking and Unlocking Tools" and try "unlockhd -a" if that doesnt work for unlocking it then you can use the "XBOXSCENE" password, which I can tell you how to use if needed. Good Luck. -FeudalNate Last edited by feudalnate; 08-10-2008 at 01:26 PM.

| Re: New HDD Problem ok, i have the eeprom from when i first softmodded it saved onto my flash drive. i can easily unlock it. It is a Western Digital Caviar SE 160GB (WD1600AJVB-63WTAO). I saw that whenever i went on to a different computer the eeprom changed. So to fix the hard drive i need to burn an ISO that contains the original EEPROM from when i softmodded it on to a CD-R instead of a CD-RW, and use that as the boot disc, correct? | ||||||

Error 6 means that the xbox cant unlock the HDD with the mobo eeprom. It has to match specifically. Plug in your old xbox hdd and run either forrresttools, or some other eeprom program to get your eeprom again.

The previous Xbox HDD has no E partition What should i do next? Error 6 is "Cannot Unlock HDD" which means your drive isnt locking right when your trying to lock the drive or like I said above, your using the wrong Eeprom. After you type in "lockhd -a" a info screen should pop-up saying: Security supported: yes Security enabled : yes Security locked: yes Security frozen: no Security count expired: no If you get this screen then your drive is locking properly and your just using the improper Eeprom. If you get: Security supported: yes Security enabled : no Security locked: no Security frozen: no Security count expired: no Then sometimes the drive freezes and you have to go into the BIOS of your computer and switch a setting for your Primary Master, which I assume is what your new HDD is on. I don't remeber how to do it off the top of my head right now, but if thats what's happening then just say and I can help you out. Or it's not finding the Eeprom on your linux CD Quote: 6. The previous Xbox HDD has no E partition -FeudalNate
