| Re: New HDD Problem thanks for the help OK. Here's what i've got: 1. 8 GB Stock harddrive, that runs, but is missing an E partition. Since it has no E partition, i cannot run discs, including Slayer's, or a game save exploit. 2. 160 GB HDD from the same brand as the stock HDD (Western Digital). It has all the partitions on it (from what i can tell), but i can't lock it. I CAN lock it, but i need to use a XBoxdhdm CD that has no eeprom file in it. And after attempting that, i can't UNLOCK it now, and i get Error 06. 3. From what i can tell, the eeprom hasn't changed, but the HDD Password changes when i use the new one (ie. Original starts with 318c, new one starts with b8fa). I can't tell if it has changed, because i can't read any disc to get a new eeprom backup. The eeprom i have is from when i first softmodded my XBox. Now Im trying to get into HM'ing it, but I wanted to replace the HDD. Can someone PLEASE tell me what i have to do to either rebuild the partition table on the old one (I can't because i can't unlock the old HDD for some reason), or to get the new HDD working. You can't just replace the M$ with a modded dashboard because the proper flag's aren't set and your Xbox would most likely boot into an error state. Please follow this tutorial: HOW TO: Hotswap with XboxHDM v1.9 Make sure not to shutoff your Xbox before plugging your HDD back in, it could result in a useless Xbox ![]() You probally do already, but if you don't have the M$ dashboard then download below: M$ Dashboard Download This will fix your missing E: partition problem and allow you to re-mod, backup the proper Eeprom and lock your drive properly. -FeudalNate Last edited by feudalnate; 08-12-2008 at 05:00 PM. | ||||||

| Re: New HDD Problem OK, i got it unlocked. unfortunately, when i relocked i, i now get error 6 when i turn it on. i get error 6 on both drives now. is it possible to change the hd password on it? i accidentally typed in a new password, (which is probably why i get error 6 now). so when i unlock it, and use hdlock, and it asks what i want to lock it with do i type in the hdd pass from eeprom? i have the original hdd pass written down. If you let me I'll take a look at your Eeprom file, and see if it's truly all 0's. I might beable to help you out, but if you don't have a proper HDD key then your Xbox is a doorstop unless you get yourself a "Mod Chip". PM a link to download your Eeprom file. -FeudalNate As it seems, your Eeprom file is blank. Which is probally the reason it wasnt locking correctly in the first place. I don't know if there's anything left I can help you with...if both drives are unlocked and you don't have the key to lock either with, then sorry to say...your screwed. I would think about getting a "Mod Chip", preferably a cheap one but you can spead as much money as you like. If I'm wrong in my message above then please correct me because you might still have a chance at getting that subborn peice of Microsoft equiptment going. -FeudalNate Last edited by feudalnate; 08-13-2008 at 11:05 AM.
