Get on Xbox LIVE with your softmod! No uninstalling!

Things needed for this tutorial:
Software Modified (softmod) xbox
Router
Computer
Xbox and computer connected through the same router

This tutorial is so you do not have to uninstall your softmod. This will not allow you to go on live with modded maps from the disc. You will be almost instantly banned from mm if you use modded maps for Halo 2. This is so XBL won't recognize that you have a modified Xbox. I merely wrote this for those that wanted an modified Xbox to play their CLASSIC games (e.g. NES, SNES, etc.) without having to go through the hassel of using there backups to unmod their Xbox to go on LIVE!

Before you do anything, make sure that you go into your Xbox and change your IP's static state to NO. Be sure you go all the way to the bottom and click Save and Exit.

<span style="color:orange">Step 1</span> - Print this document.

<span style="color:orange">Step 2</span> - Turn off every computer on your network. If you have other things such as t.v.'s (that's what I've been told), turn those off too. If you don't want to try that the first time, then if XBL doesn't work, then you can do it the second time.

<span style="color:orange">Step 3</span> - Turn off your Xbox.

<span style="color:orange">Step 4</span> - Unplug your router and modem. Be sure that you do not hit the reset button on your router for that may create problems and cost money for someone to come out and fix it.

<span style="color:orange">Step 5</span> - Plug your router and modem back in.

<span style="color:orange">Step 6</span> - Turn your Xbox back on and load up EVOX.

<span style="color:orange">Step 7</span> - Check to see if your I.P. is showing up. Do this by going to System Configuration>Settings. The top I.P. is what you are interested in. If it is showing up, then you can proceed. If it does not, then you must figure out what you did wrong (e.g. the network cord in not plugged into your xbox or your router.)

<span style="color:orange">Step 8</span> - Put your game that you wish to log into Xbox Live with. Once the game is in, turn your Xbox off.

<span style="color:orange">Step 9</span> - Turn your xbox back on. (Step #8 and 9's process is called cold boot)

<span style="color:orange">Step 10</span> - Attempt to log onto Xbox Live. If a trouble shooter comes up, click it. If it says call customer service, do NOT be alarmed. This usually happens. If you get on Xbox Live, congrats and skip to STEP #12.

<span style="color:orange">Step 11</span> - If you get the "Call customer service" screen, then repeat steps 6 through 10. If it still does not work, repeat from step 2 and verify that everything is off when the router and modem is off.

<span style="color:orange">Step 12</span> - Once you are on Xbox Live, you do not have to repeat these processes everytime. You must <span style="color:yellow">ALWAYS</span> need to cold boot though. That is the only thing that gets you onto Xbox Live without uninstalling your softmod. I've gotten about 15 xbox's on Live doing this process.

If you used this, did you get on Live? Let me know or if you have questions, I'll try to answer them and prolly update the tutorial if need be. I've been able to get at least 15 of MY friends to get on live...that is not counting the number of people that have used this in the past to get on.

Well, once you get it on once, the rest of the time its easy to get on live...its just like having a normal xbox...except you have to cold boot everytime. I just didnt want to uninstall it everytime like everyone suggested...I figured there had to be an easier way.

I think I mention you don't have to repeat this after the first time you log in...meaning that you can do this forever! Unless you are retarded and you do not cold boot like I say. This is not for CHEATING as I mention already so why would you only be able to do this once?

ok i have a MAJOR problem when i restore my old dash and go to it it says xbox live is installing updates but then fails and tries again and keeps on reapeating.

Help?

Well, I dont know why it would fail. Everything is restored back to normal if you can connect and it doesnt kick you to a screen saying you are banned or error 21. So...I really dont know why you are getting that.

People have a hard time w/ this tutorial. You jsut have to try different things w/ your router and modem...but I suggest do not hit your reset button on the router. I dont know what else to say. I've had a hard time w/ the tutorial myself...but I somehow manage getting on live.
