Yes, the hdd was huge for a gaming system at the time it came out...it's so huge for the gamesaves that I don't think you can fill it up with gamesaves. But it's too small to have Xbox games on it really...unless you have a smaller game. Halo 2 is one of the bigger ones as I'm sure H1 is too. So in order for you to get those games on your Xbox, you'll need to buy a bigger hdd (this means you won't be able to play online anymore). If you still want to do that, then I believe forrrestmaster has made a good tutorial on upgrading a softmodded xbox's hdd.

I am unsure as to what I will do (upgrade the HDD or just continue to use discs). I have never played anything on Xbox Live, so if I were to upgrade the drive and could not play online, I wouldn't really be missing anything. I must admit though that playing Halo or Halo 2 with other people does sound like a great time. I do wonder if the Xbox 360 has made the Halo and Halo 2 community thin though (or will in the near future). I have yet to purchase or play an Xbox 360, and it will probably be quite some time before I can afford to get one (although I do hope to in the future). Hopefully I can find some good Xbox games that will keep me entertained for a while longer (maybe through game rentals). ![]() I did notice that the Unleash X menu has a section called "applications" and "emulators". Neither folder has anything in it. Is it possible for the Xbox to emulate a different gaming system? Just curious as to what it means.

| Re: How to Softmod your Xbox with SID 4.0 You might not need a new hdd look on the page before this one (55) i told you what you could do. You don't need the whole halo 2 disk on your hdd (its like 8 GB) if you remove unnecessary files you can get it down to like 2-5 GB. | ||||||

Those folders are empty b/c you haven't installed anything in them. Use the "Auto-installer Deluxe" tutorial I've made and it will fill those folders right up Plus, you will get all the current emulators and you would just need to go to romhustler.com to get the games you want for each system.

| Re: How to Softmod your Xbox with SID 4.0 So sorry to be here late lol but if it helps if this xbox has never seen xbox live then you can upgrade the hdd and still go on xbox live safely. sorry for not explaing this to you azzid but in short if the xbox its main board and the hdd never been registerd with xbox live it wont know what code is the original hdd, and it will not search in your hdd so it doesnt know these factors * what contents is in the hdd so all your backed up games emus movies etc etc are safe *the hdd size However if once you register (go online with xbox live) and you later decide to put the stock 8gb hdd and then go xbox live you will have a big banhammer at you before you know it. because it will detect the diffrent code in the hdd number. even though you safely went through the retail mode again this is if the xbox live system see a change in coding from its first visit. I hope this helps and clear's up some things. also as far as upgrading the hdd my sig link method is slightly diffrent then ndure but it uses the same app which is xboxhdm maker and the reason why the pc only saw your game as small file is because it only saw the video part that is recorded for the pc / dvd player but the game is hidden inside and you will NOT find it no matter what unless of course you ftp the files or work for ms once again i hope this helps ![]() Last edited by gus738; 08-11-2008 at 02:11 AM. | ||||||

Edit: found Xbox Hard Drive Compatibility Chart ![]() Another question... Most of the posts I have been reading when googling about upgrading an Xbox hard drive say that you have to have a hard mod chip installed, is this the case anymore? | Re: How to Softmod your Xbox with SID 4.0 The size shouldn't matter, i have a 250GB hdd in my box and you don't need a mod chip (i'll find you the tut). Reformatting your Xbox HDD to factory default Last edited by David5534; 08-14-2008 at 03:22 AM.
