How to Softmod your Xbox with SID 4.0

Azzid im in the program WinRAR and ive got all the sid files and stuff highlighted and i right clicked now wat do i do from here to unrar them and zip um.

ok how do i "unrar" the files i have no clue what that means ive moded my xbox before but i didnt have to do all that stuff.... i guess all i want to know is how do i unrar and what files do i drag in? im using mechassault.

Okay, let's see here:

Perfect Teknig - No, it shouldn't be a problem with the xbl auto-updates. If your network is set up correctly and you haven't softmodded anything, then your dash WILL UPDATE. This is guaranteed. Double check your network connections. Are you using a router? If not, then you may be having a problem there. Tell us what your network settings are for your xbox. Explaining what you're doing makes it easier for others to help you.

ATL-Drag and drop them to your desktop. Open up AR, and browse to the gamesave you need. You will have to copy the gamesave for whatever you're using (mechassault for mechassault, 007 for 007, etc) to your xbox, then go back and copy the Installer gamesave to the memcard and then to your xbox.



Kyle G-Make sure you're following the instructions in the tut for how to boot your xbox for XBL, and make sure you've reconfigured your dashboard's network settings. Softmodding may change your system settings. If you didn't follow the instructions for how to boot, your eeprom may be banned. Again, tell us what you've got configured so we can troubleshoot it for you.


bkippers- (last but not least), go to www.google.com and type in winrar. Download the program, install it, and then you'll be able to open .rar files. Then you follow the steps in the tutorial for getting the necessicary files onto your xbox.

so once i download winrar i will automatically be able to drag it into the ar ?

No. You've gotta extract the gamesaves from the .rar, then I think you can drag and drop them in.

It doesnt let me get on XBL

What I did is once in UnleashX Dashboard I put in Halo 2 and then went to Load DVD it loaded the game then on Halo I went to Xbox Live and put in my account password. Then I didnt get an error or anything it just didnt go through
