How to Softmod your Xbox with SID 4.0

well what if i need to uninstall the soft mod for any reason?

The installer won't let you install unless you have a good backup...just try to install...I know what I'm talking about. If you can't install, then come back here and ask for someone's ms backup.

I reinstalled it Azzid, but I still am not able to access LIVE!. Like it lets me put in my pw, but it doesnt show the box that says connecting to Xbox Live. So what should I do?

how do i change my ip to automatic, because it goes as far as letting me type in my password ans when i type in the fourth didgit it just goes back to main menu starting where it says press start to continue

ok i went back and read the forums and reread the instructions, like a retard after i saw i had completed the installation of my softmods i left the forum now that i messed up i went back and figured out my mistake sorry for the trouble

So...did you figure out how to get your ip to be auto?

@mlg, make sure you ip is dhcp/automatic. Once you change that, restart your Xbox, and then turn it off, open the tray, wait til you get the ms dash, put the game in and try to get on live. Do NOT try to do a trouble shooter...that will prolly ban your Xbox.

ok ill try that when i get home, thanks, and 2 questions, can i install a soft mod without a dashboard? i mean my xbox currently has no dashboard but it reads games and such. and then after the mod is installed i should have ftp access, so where would i put the retail dashboard in? ( to be sure... do i also need to do the other backups? like mod backup and eeprom?)

and my xbox still reads game disks

Just reinstall...skip the backing up parts and install the softmod.

I have read all the posts in this thread and yes a lot of the HOW TO is kiddi stuff i guess like winrar etc etc..
Anyway Azzid i have a question .. I have done a lot of softmods using SID v2.0 .
Now im wondering if i should "upgrade" to this one instead since it has an Uniinstall function which SID2 dosnt have.

1- BUT are there games/backup that wont work after this Softmod ?

2- You are talking about some errors ,are thouse errors corected or are you working on another new /fresh TUT ?


I dont understand the big problems peopel are having the guide seems where well written but that sayid im a little big "turn of" by how many complains of errors etc etc.

All I wanna be abel to is to play my backup games without ANY problems at all just like SID2 ...

Okay I did this softmod.

And i did everything as the guide sayid , i didnt run into any errors or anything like that however , I now got a problem My LED shows RED and when i insert a game it wont boot up and that sayid i cant play any games..

I have the new dahsboard i did the install correct , no errors
