OK, so I finally got the copy of the Krayzies Ndure 1.1 Installer from here (I had another but wasn't sure if it was the full file or not).
I have a Datel MaxDrive (64MB USB drive with the female USB to xbox controller cable) and easily got both Spinter Cell saves onto it and my xbox HDD. I attempted the run/install and got a blank black screen (later I found my error, THOSE THAT NEED HELP, make sure that you hit that A button TWICE (fairly quickly).
I had waited a bit too long between presses, and that's why (I think) it didn't work. I did not know this, so I went to combine the installer for v1.1 with the update kit v1.1.1 (like the instructions tell you how). I went and rarred the save file again, but when trying to use it I kept getting the error saying it was an invalid xbox save... Maybe this was because I .rar'ed it and it was originally zipped (.zip)??
Anyways, I went and removed the 2 saves off of my xbox HDD and the Datel MaxDrive unit, and just moved the same files (original 1.1 - no update) back to the AR and to the Xbox HDD. Ran the installer and made sure to do 2 quick presses of the A button. It started to do a black screen in between presses, did a green flash of some kind, black screen (after having hit button second time already), then the installer flashed up onto the screen. I had been holding my breath for those 10 seconds or so, but got it to work!
So I have done all the setup and changes of settings, and attempt to play games. It doesn't work, as the screen is messed up real badly. The bottom 3rd (of a widescreen HDTV) shows the little multiple colored dots (snow like), while the middle band has those with some of the actual game screen overlapping that. The top 3rd band has the repeat of the game (echoing) with no multi-colored snow dots.

This happens when I attempt to play a game from DVD drive with either UnleashX Dashboard *OR* the MS Dashboard... I look at the settings and see nothing that I can change to make it better (tried using slow/faster refresh rate, it is set for HD AV cable as I have the Monster Component cable as the attachment to my HDTV.
I tried one last test, which was copying a game to the HDD and attempting to run it. After I did this, and figured out how to get it to run as it wasn't (yet) showing up under the "Games" sections (not until after I had played it by selecting the correct file through file explorer, no idea which the correct one was, I just kept trying them all.
Yes - I tend to ramble on, sorry about that. Anyways, when I found that magic file and the game started (Fable, if it makes any difference) it happened to work *correctly*, with no distortion or echoing etc on the screen.
So do you, or ANYONE else know what might be wrong? If the games played off the HDD are fine but not the DVD drive through either Dashboard (I did have the latest and correct Dashboard version needed for the installer package).
I might have more questions about burned games ("backups"), but that will be once I can get the screen image to display properly first, and then I will do so in the thread for the Tutorial for Burning Xbox Games...
Thanks for any help with this. I started to want to softmod my xbox a few weeks ago, just got the MaxDrive yesterday (and had the installer package but wasn't sure it was completed from downloading and so I waited and got that again today) and now I have it all installed, thanks to the tutorial (no,really, thanks. Some people's tuts just made my brain hurt trying to read them and figure things out - for other installer packages). Of course, I can't do anything as I can have one or 2 games on my wimpy 10GB HDD and no games work from the DVD drive.
It *was* very simple to do following your instructions, and I want to actually softmod my roommates xbox with this same installer package, I am just now waiting to make sure that he doesn't end up with the same problem as me before I do it for him... He does have a CRT TV though, so maybe I should hookup m
