How to Softmod with Krayzie's Ndure Installer 1.1.1

Why are you uninstalling? And was it modded with this installer?

Just wanted to ask a real nooby question in that one has to purchase AR in order to mod. And if one does need to buy AF, is it worth it? It seems like there is a 75% chance that you will be able to actually successfully soft-mod your xbox without messing it up. Thanks for any help.

If you follow a tutorial there's a 100% chance you'll mod your xbox without messing up.

AR is not really worth it, only if you mod.

You DO need to buy AR unless you want to make your own.

OK - after some faffing about I worked out the install instructions.

Now I go to Applications > Krayzie Extras and then I get back to the original installation menu. The only option that jumps out is "Upgrade from 1.0".

So I click that and after some prompts it says: "this will only work if you first COMPLETELY REMOVED the 1.0 save from the hd before transfering the 1.1 save." Then "1.0 not removed. Action: rename"

Am I doing the right thing and what exactly am I meant to be removing?

I think it's talking about the UDATA files (gamesaves) that you put on your Xbox. Delete the ones you have and transfer the new ones (provided in this tutorial) to the Xbox.

sorry i dont like this im so confused even though i mod i tried it your way because i cant get on live and it just dont work for me

Thanks for replying Azzid. I tried deleting the UDATA files (I did it via the MS Dash) and checked the files via ftp. Then I deleted the Extras dir on the Xbox and copied over a new one (the upgrade prompt was very specific about the order). Sadly, this made no difference and I still get the "1.0 not deleted, action: rename" response.

Any ideas?

Try uninstalling the softmod and re-installing...I don't see why/how it's not upgrading for you. Sounds like you are doing everything you need to.

Is it really a big deal if I don't upgrade? What are the benefits? Just I've installed a few progs - not sure if I can be bothered to it again.

If you upgrade, you can create accounts on live.

Well the live accounts is no biggie - I already have an account, and I don't plan on using it with my moded machine (not worth the risk of a live ban and I don't play OG Xbox games online.)

If anyone has any more suggestions why it's not working, let me know! Detailed instructions of where files come from/go to would be appreciated, just to finalise.

ok so i tried to remod my xbox an i go to install softmod then i click dual boot for NTSC xboxes and it said it failed or something like that with rename i'll ssend another message in a few minets

hey you said that when you get done downloading the game file to unpack it how do you unpack the file? do u unpack it when the ar is in or do u do it once its finished without ar in?

when i tried to resoftmod my xbox it said to turn it off and turn it back on and it doesn't go into my dashboard or anything it just says XBOX then under it in white it says microsoft does this mean my xbox broke?
