WARNING: All space saving tips were performed on NTSC/USA games, so unneeded PAL and languages files will be deleted. So don't expect to play your favorite game in french. Example of how much space can be saved: TitleSpace Saved Amped 2 1.2 GB MechAssualt 1.04 GB Project Gotham Racing 2 1.87 GB All 256 Games111.25 GB How's it work: Over the years there have been many websites posted on how to properly delete files without harming the games. These techniques include deleting demos, xbox live files, multi-language support, PAL files, and movies that have the game creator logo on them which play at the beginning of the game. There are some definite upsides to removing these files. One is to save space; we all know how valuable that hard drive space is these days. Second for load speed; if you always hated hitting start 20 times when trying to play your favorite games, you now no longer need to do that. Since the movies that play at the beginning of games have been removed the game goes directly to its menu. How to use ACL files: You will need two things to do this. The first being dvd2xbox so you can use the acl files. You can get dvd2xbox at "the usual places". The second is the acl files them selves. Download them here (23 Mar 04) After you have dvd2xbox set up to your liking, follow these instructions (designed for dvd2xbox 0.5.5) 1) FTP any ACL files you have over to your xbox. These files should go in the \acl\ folder where you placed dvd2xbox. Example: F:\Apps\dvd2xbox\acl\ 2) Launch dvd2xbox. 3) Press the "white" button. 4) Ensure the options "Enable ACL Processing" and "Enable RM (deletions) in ACL" are set to yes. 5) Press the "white" button. 6a) If you haven't copied the game using dvd2xbox yet, just pop your game in the DVD drive, and sit back (and stop reading this). 6b) If you've already backed the game up, read on. 7) Press the "B" button. 8) Press the "R" button and select the drive that you copied the game to. 9) Select the folder that contains the game you wish to use the ACL on. Good Example: F:\Games\ Bad Example: F:\Games\Grand Theft Auto 3\ (You want the folder \Games\ here.) 10) Highlight the game you want to run the ACL on, and press the "L" button. 11) Select "Process ACL" and sit back.
