Qwix is an easy to use, lightning fast app created by Team Avalaunch in order to create X-isos from either your Xbox HD or DVD-ROM drive. Qwix works best if used in conjunction with the Avalaunch dashboard. You can use it with any dashboard, however Avalaunch supports the boost feature, which speeds up FTP transfers considerably. I strongly recommend you use the Avalauch dashboard for this tutorial. You will need: 1. A modded Xbox, soft modded or hard modded. 2. An FTP connection from your PC to your Xbox. For info, check here: How to FTP...Made Easy!! - XTREME-SOURCE 3. Qwix http://www.teamavalaunch.com/qwix/Qwix101.rar 4. The Hacked Xbox dashboards, preferably Avalaunch. Avalaunch is easy to find, it comes with Auto Installer Deluxe (AID) 3.0. You can get this via BitTorrent, xbins, etc. Direct linking is against forum rules, so think Google. List of BitTorrent Sites: jansforums - View topic - Ultimate List of BitTorrent Sites Guide to Using Xbins: Xbox-Scene Tutorial: Guide to Using Xbins 5. ImgBurn The Official ImgBurn Website 6. 5-10GB's of free HD space. 7. A DVD Burner. 8. Quality DVD media like Taiyo Yuden or Verbatim. Guide: 1. Turn on your Xbox. 2. Boot into the Avalaunch dash. 3. If you're backing up an original Xbox game, put it in your Xbox now. Otherwise skip this step. 4. Open Qwix. 5. Click create iso. ![]() 6. Click FTP folder, then click the browse button. ![]() There's two scenarios here. Scenario #1: If you're backing up an Xbox game stored on your Xbox HD, browse to where your games are stored. In my case, it's F-->Games. ![]() Select the game you wish to backup, click on the folder, then click ok. Scenario #2: If you're backing up a game from your Xbox DVD drive, then select the D drive. Note: If you're using the UnleashX dash, the D drive doesn't show up in the FTP browser. You need to use the Avalaunch or EvoX dash so that the D drive will appear in the FTP browser in Qwix. Use Avalaunch for this tut. ![]() 7. Check the autocrosslink box, and click create iso. ![]() Note: Sometimes you may need to uncheck the auto crosslink feature. While trying to backup Morrowind, Qwix would freeze with the autocrosslink feature checked. Also you may have to shut down your AV while backing up games with Qwix. I had to do this a couple times using Trend Micro PC-Cillin 2006. 8. Pick a name and destination for the iso folder. Make sure the save as type box is set to iso. Then click save. ![]() 9. Sit tight while the X-iso is compiled, shouldn't take more than 10-15 minutes. ![]() 10. It's done. Click ok. ![]() 11. Open ImgBurn. 12. Go to Mode-->Write. 13. Click the magnifying glass icon at the top of the program. ![]() 14. Browse to your iso file. Double click it. You can also drag and drop the iso into ImgBurn. You may want to save it to the desktop for easy access. ![]() 15. Set the desired write speed and click write. Note: I set the write speed to 8x here. If you use quality 8x media like Taiyo Yuden or Verbatim, your firmware is up to date, and your setup can handle it, you can burn at the max rated speed of the disc with no issues. The general rule of thumb is to burn at half the max speed of the disc. I've burned hundreds of games with zero coasters using Taiyo Yuden media. I only recommend burning at the rated speed of the disc if you're a vet of DVD Burning, and using quality media. I do not advise this with low quality media or 16x media. For 16x media, burn at 4x or 8x. ![]() 16. Go grab a snack while it burns, shouldn't take long. ![]() 17. It's done! Click ok. ![]() Final Notes: 1. Turn off your Anti-Virus for this process. It will save you connectivity errors and frustration down the road. 2. Use Avalaunch with Qwix. You'll get the full boon of the boost mode, and have very issues if you use this tutorial with Qwix. If you're using another dash and having issues, you know why. 3. Only burn at the max speed of the disc with quality media 4x or 8x media, and only if you're a vet to backing up games. 4. You'll need to FTP your Xbox for this tutorial. To FTP your Xbox check here: How to FTP...Made Easy!! - XTREME-SOURCE 5. You can use whatever burning software you want. I recommend ImgBurn because it's fast, effective, and free. 6. Qwix can make buggy isos at times. Most of the X-isos I make with Qwix work okay. However, a couple games I couldn’t get to work. To remedy this, I ripped the game to my Xbox HD with DVD2Xbox. Then I FTPed the game to my PC HD and created an X-iso with CloneXB. Qwix is a very solid app, but if you’re really concerned about stability, then use the DVD2Xbox/CloneXB method for best results. Do not use Craxtion to create X-isos. Craxtion is for homebrew software, not for creating playable X-isos. It makes very buggy and unstable X-isos. DVD2Xbox/CloneXB Quick Guide: 1. Insert your original Xbox game in your Xbox. 2. Rip your original Xbox Game to your Xbox HD with DVD2Xbox. 3. FTP the game from your Xbox HD to your PC. 4. Create an X-iso with CloneXB or ExtractXiso. 5. Burn X-iso to quality media like Taiyo Yuden or Verbatim. | ||||||

| When backing up halo 2, the whole thing doesn't fit on a DVD. What file do you need to delete to get it to fit? I deleted the credits file... havn't tried the disk yet so I don't know if it works. At the end it came up with a lot of errors (I ticked verify) | ||||||
