New HDD - Impossible in my x-box?

Hi.

I have followed loads of tutorials of how to install a new hdd nto my xbox. All the disks I make with ISO's and that all work fine on my other modded xbox but not on the one I want to install the HDD to.
I broke the original HDD by deleatin everythin on it somehow but I have a backup and all that but every tutorial I try just doesn't work. I've tried doing it throught linux and all the new hdd installers from the usual places.

Do some xbox's just not take new hard drives? everytime I try anything I get the error 16 message. Is it worth me doing nethin else?

You have to format it, Use XBox Hard Drive Manager, xbox_hdm, its on xbins, once u place all that **** in the right place, id sugest use XBMC360 as your dash, and make sure you do your eeprom so u can relock it, if u cant find it ill get it for you and walk you through it, u can do anything with an xbox
