u use FlashFXP to extract ur eeprom to ur pc and reformate it so bungie cant ban u (they track u thru ur eeprom to see if ur modding)
here's directions on how to do it, i got the info from xbox-scene.com...

If you are banned from Xbox Live, you will need an unbanned EEPROM since Microsoft bans your EEPROM if you access Xbox Live with your modchip on. Getting a new, unbanned Xbox can be achieved by getting it from a friend's Xbox, or seeing if a website is selling them.

GETTING THE EEPROM FILE
1. In EvolutionX, do the "Backup" command in the Utilities menu. It will generate files about your Xbox specs.
2. FTP in your Xbox, or use a file manager tool, and in C:\Backup, you will find a file called EEPROM.BIN
3. FTP that to your PC HD or remember its location for future reference.

SETTING UP THE FILE FOR CONFIGMAGIC
1. Once you have Configmagic loaded onto your HD or on your PC, there will be a directory in it called DATA.
2. Move the EEPROM.BIN file, that EvolutionX generated, into that DATA directory, overwriting the EEPROM.BIN file that is already there.
3. If you are making a Configmagic CD, you can now make the ISO of it and burn it. Xbox HD users, don't worry.

RUNNING CONFIGMAGIC
1. Load up Configmagic.
2. A warning screen will be shown, press "A" to bypass it.
3. When Configmagic finally loads, it will show your current EEPROM on your Xbox. Make a note of the DVD KIT ZONE and VIDEO AND XBE REGION information.

"NTSC, Region 1" for US Xbox gamers
"PAL, Region 4" for UK Xbox gamers

4. Select "LOAD XBOX EEPROM" in the menu.
5. Select "UNLOCK HD" in the menu.
6. Load the EEPROM.BIN file in the DATA directory by choosing "LOAD EEPROM FROM .BIN FILE"
7. If you see that the VIDEO AND XBE REGION information is different, you MUST change it. Go into the menu and choose "ON-THE-FLY EDIT EEPROM". Change the VIDEO AND XBE REGION number to the proper information of your former EEPROM.
8. Now, select "UPDATE XBOX EEPROM" in the menu.
9. Your Xbox's EEPROM will now be updated with the file in the DATA directory.
10. In the menu, select "LOAD XBOX EEPROM". You will notice your EEPROM is now different! Success
11. Select "LOCK HD" from the menu.
12. Select "EXIT CONFIGMAGIC" in the menu.

IMPORTANT TIPS
- If you were using the XBOX DVD KIT to play DVDs, and the Xbox gives an error about region, load up Configmagic and change the DVD KIT ZONE number to the number of your previous EEPROM. UNLOCK the HD, choose "ON-THE-FLY EDIT EEPROM" in the menu and simply change the DVD KIT ZONE number. Then, UPDATE XBOX EEPROM and LOCK HD. Exit Configmagic.
- You can view any Xbox EEPROM using your PC by getting Liveinfo PC program. It will show all the details of an EEPROM.BIN file. You might find it easier to edit any possible changes to your DVD KIT ZONE or VIDEO AND XBE REGION using the program, rather ON-THE-FLY EDIT EEPROM in Configmagic.
- Sometimes, with a PAL EEPROM, your Xbox's time might be wrong or video settings will be different. Go into the MS dash and change the settings to the way you seem fit.

Yea that works just 2 things to add.

1.) You MUST get a new unbanned EEPROM, you cannot edit your current one.
2.) You MUST get a new hard drive because of the "marriage theory", which states that when you first go on xbl your hard drive and EEPROM are "married" to each other. If you go online with a new EEPROM and the old hard drive you will be banned. If you go online with a new hard drive and the old EEPROM you will be banned. (in both cases the new EEPROM and new hard drive will be banned and CANNOT be ever used again in an xbox).

This will only work with a new xbox hard drive and a new EEPROM at the same time.

im sorry pan1c, im just sick and tired of people posting retarded tuts and the hundreds of total noobs on this site who dont know how to look for an answer, they just make dumbass topics asking dumbass questions "How do i ftp?, How do i burn halo 2 and play it on a unmodded xbox? my map wont load, what do i do? how do i turn on my xbox?" all retarded questions, then you have the people on here that THINK they are modders when they cant do ****. these are the people that use a ppf and mod a halo 2 map and call themselves modders and say they have a softmodded xbox when all they did was use some one elses mods and patch a map file. ****ing pathetic. im sick of all the damn retards who ask pointless questions and make pointless threads "We had a illegal lan party" WHO the **** cares if you copied counter strike to a harddrive and played on a lan? im just sick of all the damn retards on this site

wht is true tho is if u take a eeprom from another xbox and solder it into yours, but u have to worry bout messin up both xboxs

yeah, you can take it out and solder it into yours, BUT it wont do any good unless the harddrive is unlocked already or you have the image from the old eeprom flashed to the new eeprom but anyways, if you were already on xbox live on either xbox and you swap eeproms, neither can get onto live because of the marriage theory, the hardrive gets "married" to the eeprom when you first sign onto xbox live, if MS sees either the harddrive or eeprom has been swapped, say good bye to xbox live on the xbox

I'm sorry to say that, but you are.

The moderators got their positions because they were dedicated to the site and are willing to help it, not because they know ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING about xboxes.

You're not smarter than 95% of the users. You may know a good deal but I guarantee you that most of the people here aren't as dumb as you think. Maybe because they don't know a lot about a certain topic doesn't mean that they're idiots.....

Premium members are so because they paid to be. That doesn't make them any smarter, it just means they paid. Go back to my classic flame example, XXX exyBoxy XXX.

People ask for help because they're coming into the xbox 1 modding period at the end of it. Modding the first xbox is winding down as more and more people are turning towards the 360. A lot of people ask for things because the xbox has been ripped apart by so many people that almost everything is known about it. So it's pretty useless to spend time trying to figure something out when it's already been done.

A lot of users come here to LEARN how to mod, that's why I came.

Ocelot13 NOT for moderator. You don't really get it now do you? Moderators exist to help maintain the forum, clean up old topics, delete useless topics, edit profane posts, lock topics, move topics to different areas where they're more suited. Moderators DO NOT exist so that they stand out when they give advice to people. Because of the security issues of it, you won't be a moderator until you get a HELL of a lot more posts. To the admin, the post ranking system DOES count.

Please stop making posts that simply say that you are the supreme god of all xbox modding and you know everything there is to know. You can always learn more. And please actually realise what a moderator does, it is getting annoying seeing all the topics about kids who know how to fly a warthog say that they are the supreme modders of all time and wanting to be moderators or admins.

So please, let's get off the issue of how you're so much smarter than everyone else and stay on topic.
