Hardmod Questions

Ok so im pretty much not good with electronics. so i figured id ask here before i started tearing my xbox apart to try and figure out how to work things. here are some questions i have:

1. Is it possible to add a button to either scramble the controls for the other controllers, or disable the controls for them? ( i have seen buttons that will shut your xbox off or open the disk tray, which i helped my friend install into his xbox, i figure it would have to be done somewhat close to that)

2. A lot of the adding LED's to your xbox jewel say you need a fan, is this just for looks or will it overheat if you do not have one?

3. I was thinking about maybe adding a motor to my xbox's jewel so it spun, is this a reasonable idea? or would it be too much of a mess to wire in? (or has anyone even ever tryed it for that matter....)

4. What all can possibly be added to your xbox? i know LED's are easy, but what else is out there that can be added?

Well I don't know much about 1 - 3 but I know you can add usb ports and a few other things.
