Achievements vs. no achievements????

Do you prefer achievements because they add to the game play and make you put more time in it, or do you find they take away from the game and once to get them you you never play them again?

I agree with achievements only because I think it adds something to play for and achieve in the game.

I think it does a bit of both. Gives you something to try and achieve while playing, but also once you have them all and it's not the most amazing game you may stop playing it.

Agreed to an extent. It really depends on the game. Like if it's Halo you get all the ach. I'm pretty damn sure you wont stop playing the game lol.

i don't like achievements because they make you get so into your gamerscore and you don't play the game for the game but you play for the achievements

I like achievements but as soon as you get them all its like damn I've done everything there is to do in this game...

Raising gamerscore is always fun to do when you're bored though.

I love achievements, but I wont replay a game just to get achievements that I didnt get. BTW this is in the wrong section.

lot of games had achievements on their own before xbox.. if you played command and conquor, you also wanted to finish the campaign.. not only playing some maps.. and most games had campaigns etc. that ppl wanted to finish, this is just extending these features.. now you can brag with these achievements instead of being happy but not abble to tell any1. soooo.. i think achievements rule

cause it rulezz to be able 2 say to your friends... hey look: i have 20GS more than you on that game..

and gamerz with higher GS usaly get more 'respect' then others.. some1 with 100GS total will not be taken as serious as some1 with 20.000GS :o

Achievements add more fun to your gaming. at least you have 2 goals when you play your game.
1. finish the game
2. get the the achievements

i love getting achievements! I cant wait till i hear that little sound come up, and see points added to my GS. It is so fun and it adds to the excitement, and sometimes it just shows how good you are.

I like the idea of achievements, what I don't like are bad or boring achievements. I don't mind achievements that will take a while to complete, but some stupid achievements that you have to do x y and z 1000 times are stupid.
