hd frozen problem?

I have a 80 gig western digital hard drive that i got out of a one of my older cpus that we use for junk parts... I hooked it up and loaded xboxhdm. I wiped the partitions and went to unlock it and it said hd is frozen. try and disable automatic detection in bios then reboot. How do i solve this problem and how do I get to my bios?

Its your computer that is freezing it. What you need to do is connect the HDD to your computer after you load up xboxHDM so that the bios on the comp doesnt freeze it.

When I do that it says no drive on primary master please reboot (this is when i try to unlock the drive.... do you think you could lay out some steps for me that would be very helpful

Connect the HDD when XboxHDM first loads before you hit the 1 to start everything off.

well It dident work......ok i I have tried that and it still says that there is no drive on primary master please reboot and connect drive..... i tried starting 2 drives and swapping them after load and it says that there is not drvie found..... this sux so bad.

OK. Try booting the XboxHDM with your computer HDD hooked up and then swap at the mainmenu

I have already tried that.... I told you in my last post... it still comes up with no hard drive on primary master please reboot and connect.
