If you live with your parents ask them for permission and help, if your an adult use your head !! Step 1 - Our Materials ![]()
Peel off the rubber base and place on wax paper to keep it sticky, than peel off the large Microsoft sticker and place on the wax paper (if you want to put it back) thus revealing 6 screws total ![]() ![]() Step 3 - Removing Base Plate Unscrew the 6 screws and remove the base ![]() Step 4 - Remove the Base Weights ![]() Step 5 - Removing Pivot Base Unscrew the 2 screws and metal piece to remove pivot base (see above pic) Step 6 - Removing the Camera Face Unscrew the lens as far as it will go - **IMPORTANT** take notice to the gap between the lens and the camera nose, you will need to match this in assembly or the focusing will be messed up At this point you have the lens already unscrewed as far as it will go. Now you will want to look through the gap and find the gray stop that is stopping it from unscrewing (if you are looking at the front of the camera it is on the left side). Once you find it either use a small screwdriver to push the tab in and unscrew it, or what I like to do is put the tab by my thumb and the opposite side at my 1st knuckle of my first finger and squeeze it and turn – you’ll figure it out. – just let the lens hang in there for now. ![]() Step 7 - Removing Front Face and Back of Camera Use a small screwdriver to pry apart the faces, this takes a little skill to do with out boogering up the edges real bad all I can say is be **CAREFUL**. As you pry along the edges you will hear little snapping noises those are the tabs unlocking. Now pull the faces apart. If you make some boogers it okay I have a way to fix them as long as you didn’t really scar the edges to bad **DO NOT TOUCH LENS** ![]() Step 8 - Removing Front Lens from Front Face If you look at the inside of the front face you will see a little white bump that is the stop, if you pull out and rock it against the bump the lens cylinder should pop out ![]() Step 9 - Protecting Lens Screw the lens cylinder back into place to stop dust or whatever may make contact with any of the lens ![]() Step 10 - Removing Ball Pivot Unscrew 2 screws and remove metal piece to release ball pivot, now slide the ball pivot toward you to get it out. Step 10A Everything should be loose now, but the ball pivot will not slide off the cord yet because of the white stop on the cord. ![]() Step 11 - Removing Circuit Board Unscrew the 2 screws holding the board down and pull apart. Step 12 - Removing Cord from Circuit Board Pull connector out of the back of the board. ![]() Step 13 - Removing Shrink-wrap Remove small piece of shrink-wrap by the connector on the cord, that’s where the little scissors come in handy. Step 14 - Removing Wires from Connector I like to do this with the tabs facing up **Take note of WIRE ORDER** From left to right – Thick Black, Black, Green, White, Red With a little screwdriver lift up the little tabs and pull the wires out ![]() Step 15 - Remove Ball Joint from Cord Now you can pull the ball joint off of the cable, be careful the connectors at the end of the wires make a tight fit but it will come out. And your DONE !! ![]() As for the boogers your screwdriver left use a small metal file, like a nail file, and file them off at a shallow angle then round the edges of the plastic to get a clean look ![]() At this point you can follow one of my tutorials and Dye the camera Dip Dying Plastic Parts ; change the LEDs or whatever you want to Assembly is obviously the reverse of Disassembly REMEMBER – wire connectors go in one way only and to unscrew lens cylinder before you try to put the front face back on. once again **BE CAREFUL** Use this tutorial at your OWN RISK-- Se7ensins or Myself are NOT responsible if you damage your camera or hurt yourself. I use duplicolor vinyl and fabric spray paint for my accessories to get them to match my elite, but i'm a little apprehensive about trying the camera because i don't want to paint over the clear ring... Is there a way to remove it? | ||||||
