Also, check the secondary error codes on your 360. do this by holding in the sync button and pushing eject 4 times, each time you push eject a different set of lights should flash.
All 4 lights means error code 0
3 = 3
2 = 2
1 = 1

In my experience error 0102 and 0020 are easy to fix and this should do it. but error 0022 or 0110 are usually not fixable. there are tons more codes and they all mean different things.

Worked for me, I have one from the very first shipment to gamestop when they first came out. ran great for 2 years then on lost planet it would rrod at least every 5 mins. I followed then tut exactly and have never had a problem since and I play every day!

4 lights stands for 0 so you have error code 0110. 0110 is a memory chip error. I have had 2 of them and could never get this fix to work. some people said using a heat gun on the memory chips worked but i wouldnt guarantee it...

yeah i would put foil around all the stuff except the RAM chips (the four little black chips by the GPU and underneath the motherboard) and i dont know about a hair dryer but it might work.

Rofl I like how he didn't clean the old thermal paste off. I got E74 and I'm finally get around to fixing it, Just gotta go out and buy thermal compound and I'm all set. BTW I'm following lawdogs method.

Yeah whoever took these pics is an idiot... and yes, it does permanently fix it... I did it to a console of mine almost 10 months ago and its still going fine.

i did it with foil and a hairdryer, and it didnt fix it, it didnt fix anything at all. i still get the 3 rrod
