Nominated 0 Times in 0 Posts TOTM Award(s): 0 ![]() | i tried this and it didnt work for me. when i turn on my 360 i get 2 red lights (the screws are loose). but when i tighten the screws and turn on my 360, i get the 3 RROD again. what am i doing wrong? how do i fix it so it goes back to green lights? plz and thanks in advance | ||||||

Nominated 0 Times in 0 Posts TOTM Award(s): 0 ![]() | sorry dont flame me for this, but i was using a similar tut over at llama.com, and i suggest a couple things clean off the old thermal paste before you put on the new paste put everything together until your at the part of the case, take out the fan and place it on top of the cpu heatsink, then turn it on for 10-15 minutes and let it go until it gets teh rrod, if you dont get it you really fixed it, at least mine didnt, but you should do this so when u turn it off then it will work and for sure never get the rrod... sorry this is what llama just said so im gonna trust them | ||||||

Also, check the secondary error codes on your 360. do this by holding in the sync button and pushing eject 4 times, each time you push eject a different set of lights should flash. All 4 lights means error code 0 3 = 3 2 = 2 1 = 1 In my experience error 0102 and 0020 are easy to fix and this should do it. but error 0022 or 0110 are usually not fixable. there are tons more codes and they all mean different things. | ||||||

If not, just keep trying. As you see from him, he had to do it about a dozen times before he got it right. | ||||||

When it overheats, and turns off, let it sit for 10+ minutes so the solder that has reconnected has a chance to cool down. Now turn it back on. If it worked, and you have green lights again, just reattach everything (eg. the big tube thing, secure the screws) and there you go! If not, just keep trying. As you see from him, he had to do it about a dozen times before he got it right. | ||||||
