How to install PortIO32 in Vista

Don't know how to install PortIO32 so you can use Xtracto Reader with no

problems? Installing PortIO32 in Vista is a little different than installing it in XP.

1.) First Open "Control Panel" and in the search box type in "hardware".

2.)Under "Device Manager" you will see "Install drivers for older devices with Add

Hardware wizard" select that.



3.) Click Next and you will get to this screen. Select the option in the image then

select next.



4.) After it is done searching for hardware, click next and you will get to this

screen.



5.) Make sure you highlighted "Show All Devices" then click Next.

6.) Click on "Have Disk..." and browse into the PortIO32 folder and go here

Desktop\PortIO32\win\driver. Select the portio32.inf. If you don't know where to

get portio32

7.) Click next until it installs.

8.) Now you can load Xtractor Reader without that annoying error prompt.

The folder you specified doesn't contain a compatible software driver for your device. If the folder contains a driver, make sure it is designed to work with Windows for x64-based systems.

I managed to successfully put the portio32.sys file on a vista x64 by simply copying the file into the drivers folder under windows/system32/drivers. Then running the app

i have exactly the same issue, and i have copyed the portIO into my system folder

for 64 bit users copy the portIO32.dll file into the same folder as the XtractorReader executable

I am getting this error, I am trying to do this for jungle flasher on my VIA card and it isn't working at all. I can erase the drivers either because well I couldnt find them in my system32 folder. It just wont install. Any tips?

Dual boot into xp.

When you find one let me no. Sometimes it works by fallowing above. Most of the time it dont.

thanks for telling me how to put it on x64, about a year ago i was helping out this guy and i made him reinstall windows with 32 bit instead lol
