Help! Xbox auto shuts down when ripping from xbox drive

Hi, just got done moding my xbox arcade. Every time I try to rip a game using the xbox drive and xbox as the power source, the xbox shuts down in about 5min or less so that I cannot rip my game in time. It seems that there is a problem when the sata of the xbox drive is not connect, but I would like to get some advice. Please help if you know anything. Thanks.

These are my specs.

Xbox 360 Arcade
Liteon Drive 83850C flashed to 1.6 iXtreme
Manf date : July 31 2009
Connection by sata to computer with xbox as power source to drive

*Note: everything works fine when i run the xbox to play a real game with the xbox sata connected. I just want to rip a game with the xbox drive so that I know I flashed my drive right and until my kreon drive gets here

plug in your AV cord so it stays on not the HDMI the really big fat one

Oh so I have to connect the xbox to my tv whiles it connected to my pc?

Thanks for the solution. It works with just the av cable in and doesnt need to be plyugged into tv. Got my first backup to work flawless.
