Hot swapping doesn't work?

So i finally managed to burn my modded version of Call of Duty 5 using my sisters laptop...

Then i tried hot swapping (following every last detail in the video)

But every time i tried to save it to my hard drive the disc would spin like if it was going to work then all of a sudden slow down then i would get an error saying that the disc may be scratched or w/e....This was a brand new disc out of the case...

Just to be sure i spent another half hour burning another brand new disc....

And got the same problem....

Is hot swapping a lie or is there something up? I have a lite-on drive if that make any difference...
