Xbox 360 Data Migration Kit

Hey Everyone, I was wondering something. I found this Xbox 360 Data Migration Kit on Ebay:

Hard Drive Data Migration Transfer Cable Kit 4 XBOX 360 - eBay (item 270479971227 end time Dec-03-09 18:13:51 PST)

And I am pretty sure it is of course a knock-off after doing some research. But was wondering if any of you all know if these Chinese imitations work to do things like mod gamer score, as I don't intend on transferring stuff from one HDD to another, just transferring gamer profiles to my computer. The reason I am asking is because I heard they don't work for transferring from one HDD to another, but want to make sure they do work for transferring to my CPU.

Thanks for any Help.

Re: Xbox 360 Data Migration Kit

You can get one for free from Microsoft, call in and say that you would like a Data Migration kit. That looks exactly the same as the one that I have, that I got for free from Microsoft.

From what I have been reading on the forums here, is that you can not get the Xbox 360 Data Migration Kit for FREE any longer, but was only a promotional offer that they had for a certain period.

Then I may be mistaken, but I'd still call if I were you.

OK and please do listen when i say this.
I bought one off eBay for exactly $6.50, no shipping. It worked like a charm. FOR ONE ****ING DAY. I'm sorry, but if you want a good transfer cable get off code junkies or Microsoft. Trust me, don't buy it. BTW i did get my money back for it though. SO no harm done.

Hope that helped

Yeah, I've heard a thing or two about these cables too.
It'd be better to just go with calling Microsoft, and paying $13 for something you know will work.

Btw: It wasn't a promotional offer. They just realized after a while that the data migration kits were the main cable of choice for getting files off of your hard drive, thus resulting in them making you pay for it to reduce the amount of people actually trying to get them for non-legit reasons.

Thanks, I am glad somebody responded who had tried these, and now I know that they may work, but only for a limited time. Thanks, I will just spend the extra $8 and get a Microsoft one.
