How to know the to flash the newest info?

Ok i have ordered my SATA card / cable and i would like to know whats the newest updated stuff i should use to flash my xbox to be safe for xbox live? ive searched and haven't really came up with a clear answer so sorry for any confusion

Any ixtreme you are on you should be safe for xbox live. The only reason to update is to accommodate for the new wave that came out. If you have a benQ or Samsung drive the newest is 1.61, if you have a lite-On then 1.6, if you have a Hitachi then 1.51. All will play wave 4 (the newest game wave) with the exception of the lite-On because it requires an activate.iso disc.

If you need to find it, search xbins as they have the latest up-to-date firmware.

iXtreme is the firmware you put on the xbox dvd drive. JungleFlasher is a program that reads and writes firmware of the xbox dvd drive. You need both.

The jungle flasher reads the disk that you put in the xbox correct?

No no no no. Let me try to explain.

Jungle Flasher is like a tool, the iXtreme is like a gear, and the xbox is like a clock. You need the gear(iXtreme) in order for the clock to run(read burnt discs) so you use a tool(JungleFlasher) to put the gear(iXtreme) into the clock(Xbox) and now the clock(Xbox) runs because it uses the gear(iXtreme) to make it move(read burnt discs).

Understand?

You are simply using JungleFlasher as a tool/program to put iXtreme on your xbox, once the iXtreme is on your xbox you don't need JungleFlasher, the iXtreme firmware allows it to read the discs.

You don't need a USB flash drive, they are for storing files and such. Possibly running a boot operation from the flash drive. That is only is you use DoSFlash which is an alternative to JungleFlasher, I personally prefer JF

Thanks, there was a online tut about using the USB and it threw me off so all i need is a Sata card, Jungle Flasher and iXtreme and i should be good to go?

Yup, although it depends on which drive you have. For some hitachi drives you need a slax disc, and lite-On's you need a probe. Look at the tutorial from the link Carson posted, it will tell you everything you need to know.

I downloaded the jungle flasher tut... seems kinda simple but then again overwhelming.

I have the BenQ if that helps.

Then it's simple. All you need is the latest iXtreme firmware for the BenQ which you can get from xbins

The Sata Controller card/wire which you said you already ordered. And Jungle Flasher.

Plug the drive it, select the port that the drive is on, unlock it, read the firmware, load the iXtreme firmware, spoof, and write. Basically just a couple button clicks, simple as that.

Leave your VIA drivers installed.

What do you need from xbins.org? All you need is auto xbins which contains a directory of everything you need to flash your xbox.
