lol No you don't get it.

Hitachi's you wont see anything at all. Just a plastic little wall.
Lite-on's there is no plastic barrier. There are yellow wires right there.
Benq have white wires right there.
Samsung black and red wires

Re: How to Easily Identify Your Xbox 360 DVD Drive

I notice that this thread doesn't mention anything about the Lite-On 83850c drives. Will these drives also have yellow cables and the only way to find out is to open up the system and read the label?

Just curious b/c I just bought my XBOX 360 yesterday and I noticed the yellow cables. MFG DATE 9/30/09

You can't tell the FW version without opening the drive. If you have yellow then you have a liteon regardless of the firmware.

All 3 lite-ons will have the yellow wires. You won't know the firmware version until you open the 360.

Thanks for the info. Just curious, all 3 are flashable right? (I know ixtreme 1.61 isn't out yet) I've just heard conflicting information on this

All 7xxxx Lite-on's are flashable.
Most 8xxxx Lite-on's are flashable. But most made after August09 are not dumpable so you can't flash them
Then All 9xxxx drives are undumpable at the moment.
