Red Ring Of Death *microsoft quick repair*

alright this is my first proper thread so be nice

anyway

i have had the red ring of death twice and i was devasted as both my friends and my brothers had taken about 4-6 weeks to get sent back fixed but ... i came up with a plan ... i emailed them about it , when they replied asking me what was wrong i simply explained...

i have the red ring of death and this is ridiculous... its my birthday in 2 weeks and now i am not going to ask for any games for it as it wont work

etc

i basically gave them a pathetic story saying it was my birthday and how upset i was it had broke saying i had already told everyone not to get me games now

they replied telling me to print the attachment off stick it to a box with the console in and a courier will pick it up the next day , 8am the next day they picked it up

they recieved it at noon and ntified me by email and 8 days later it was back home.. exzactly the same the second time... my brothers had been away for 3 days already by the time mine broke and sure as heck it was back within a bit longer but just 10 days and my brothers didnt come back till 2 weeks after

so if you have the red ring of death ... try this ... nothing to lose :thum bup:

Nice idea, however I prefer to have my extended best buy warranty, my 15 minutes to get a new console beats your 8 days

Wtf do you mean?
You get an extra warranty through best buy?
If so, I was never told of this when I bought my 360 via Gamestop

No you get the normal product warranty, but on most almost all electronics you can buy an extended warranty. I did so and whenever my controller broke, my headset broke, or any part of my console I can return it to bestbuy and get a new one for free. It wasn't much and it sure paid for itself replacing those stupid headsets before I bought a wireless one and then I returned my controller at least twice. It's almost up now and I just figured I will return my whole console and get a new one.

A lot of retailers have stopped offering extended warranties for the 360 because of the high failure rates that plagued them. If you bought one while they still offered them you keep it under a grandfather clause.

I bought it the day the xbox 360 came out which is why I got the extended warranty, through it all it was well worth it.
