My New Gaming Idea

I'm taking Engineer design and development class at my high school and i have to come up with an idea thats not patented and that people would like. I came up with the Ultimate Gaming Computer. What this computer has in it is a ps3, wii, 360 and a normal computer. The systems would be shrinked and be able to fit in the computer. Since most people already have 1 of these systems you can either buy the computer with all the systems or you can buy it separate. The over all cost of this would lower the prices because you wouldn't need the dvd systems installed in the 360 and the ps3 because they will already be on the computer.

Tell me what you guys think and if you have any suggestions on this idea or any other idea just post away.

Actually this is quite possible.

Yet you could not patent this, as you'd be infringing on a ton of patents and copyrighted material.

I thought of something like this when I was ten. I originally thought the Wii (at the time the "Nintendo Revolution") was going to have a slot for every Nintendo game.

It's already been made(with older systems) and you would need each drive because well Idk about you but I know that my dvd drive can't play xbox 360 games or ps3 games.

Wouldn't it just require a different firmware?...

Also, the 360's dvd drive is only a regular dvd drive, actually a lot less expensive then just about every other dvd drive on the market.. Hell, the comp I'm on right now, is from 1998, and it's dvd drive can rip DVDs.

The 360's can't.

But I read about this experiment this dude did, he was kind of like Ben Heck, but he swapped out some minor parts of the DVD drive, and it ripped dual layer discs and dvds...

I think it was the laser, and one of the chips in it.

Yea, It would be cool. But there's no way you could patent it.

I dont have to patent it in any way. And for Nightcast response it will be different drives. There will be covers on it for the systems you don't have the slots filled and for the ones you do it will look the dvd drive. There will also be more fans in the computer on the side and the front to control all the systems running on it. i have a drawing on it ill take a picture of it and upload once i get it completely done. Also it would be so big and heavy, that shipping such a item with suck. The noise would be so high and the heat would be crazy.

The systems would be shrunk down so it would be like 10 lbs added mayby even less. The computer would have a cooling system and if anything all 3 systems wouldn't be on at the same time so all the fans wouldn't be loud. My computer runs on 1 fan i think and it makes no noise, if it ran on 2 i doubt it would be that much louder.

It wouldn't work. It's not cost effective and those companies don't exactly "get along".

Doesn't matter if companies dont get a long its whether is a good idea or not. And ya it would work because i read about a guy who put all 3 systems in his laptop

Ok I don't think you understand how business works. Microsoft hates Sony, who hates Nintendo. Then Intel hates nVidia, who absolutely despises Ati. It would be a cluster**** off hate. That's why the major corporations involved wouldn't work.

As for it being a good idea, it's not. PC will always reign supreme for gaming. Consoles are going to be dead in another decade and to have all the 7th gen consoles thrown together would cost way to much. Just look at how much money Sony looses on each sale of a PS3. It's ****ing retarded.

You "read" about a guy who put all 3 systems in his laptop...? Ok i've seen the Xbox 360 laptop and the PS3 Laptop. They were projects. That weren't massed produced or sold for a profit. You actually think M$ would let someone get away anyone taking there **** and putting into some "super console"... Yea sure maybe after hell has frozen over.
