How To Create A Private World Of Warcraft Server By Sasquatch 45

This tutorial is probably the easiest way to create a server...this is not from scratch, but you will be able to modify anything just as well...this tutorial will teach you how to make the server, not publicate it...It will work for your computer and your computer only (until you make it public) I'll release a tutorial on that at a later date...

Note: In the pictures I'm using Vista, this tutorial will work on any operating system...just make sure you have .netframework 3.5 installed.



Requirements:

1. ArcEmu 2.4.3 Repack: RapidShare: Easy Filehosting

2. .NetFramework 3.5: Download details: .NET Framework 3.5

3. Winrar: http://rarlabs.com/download.htm

4. World Of Warcraft...if you don't got it, download it



How To:

Step 1. Open "ArcEmu_for_2.4.3" and extract it to the C drive




Step 2. After you have extracted it, go inside the folder and find 'ad.exe'. Then make a folder called maps.



Step 3. Put 'maps' and 'ad.exe' in your World Of Warcraft Folder (C:\Program Files\World Of Warcraft) If it says there is already a 'ad.exe' in the folder then just replace it.



Step 4. Click 'ad.exe' and you should see a comand prompt come up...just let it do its things, this could take anywhere from 2 minutes to an hour...for me its takes about 20 minutes...



Step 5. After it is done copying the maps drag 'maps' back to the ArcEmu folder...leave 'ad.exe' where it is.



Step 6. Click on the batch file 'Start Background'. Let it load for about 15-20 seconds. After that you can close it. If you ever need to restart the server you can either restart your computer or go into taskmanager>processes>mysqld-nt ...close it, then you an restart your server...



Step 7. Click the batch file 'Account Creator'. Create your self a username and password.

-You don't need a email address, i just put vcxfgbdfhgdf as mine.

-If you want the account to be Burning Crusade enabled put 8 when asked, if not, put 0.

-If you want the account to be a gm put AZ when asked, if not, put 0.

-For account Id put 1. For any other accounts the id will have to elevate such as 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, etc...

-When done press enter, it will show you your account information, press enter again, the window will close.




Step 8. Go back to your World Of Warcraft folder. Open realmlist.wtf in notepad. you will see:

set realmlist logon.worldofwarcraft.com
set patchlist us.version.worldofwarcraft.com

you need to change it to:

set realmlist 127.0.0.1
set patchlist us.version.worldofwarcraft.com

Note: 127.0.0.1 is localhost (your computer)



Step 9. Go back to your ArcEmu folder. Run arcemu-world.



Step 10. Run arcemu-logonserver, if there is an error then try restarting the server by shutting down the msqld-nt andthen starting it back up...



Step 11. Login under your account name you made in step 7.



Your Done! Have fun with your new World Of Warcraft Server!!!

yes, i believe so, you will have to use W.I.N.E though. It's an emulator for linux to run windows programs...

when i click the AD thing it says "The application has failed to start because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect. Please see the application event log for more detail." what is that?

are you running windows vista? If so, install .net framework 3.5 as well as Download details: Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable Package (x86) and http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=3144b72b-b4f2-46da-b4b6-c5d7485f2b42&displaylang=en

for the last one go to the bottom of the page and download msxmli.msi

This is an Ascent server...and I'm still having trouble with making MY server public...but when i do i will do a tutorial

No it isn't. You can tell by the commands. On Ascent server the level up command is .mod level <desired level> On a mangos or whatever, its .levelup <desired level>

Exactly. In the mangos command list it says .levelup. in the ascent command list its under modify then levelup... ..... Yes you're confused because levelup is long for level. the whole thing for that command is .Modify levelup. For short its .mod level. On mangos its not .mod anything its just .levelup.
