Ok, look, i just tested a bunch of the commands from the ascent server list such as:

.cheat god "Sasquatch 45 has enabled god mode on you"

.cheat fly: "fly mode enabled"

.levelup 69: I was instant lvl 70

.modify speed 255: I was really freaking fast

.learn all: a bunch of skills came up and said i learned them...

all of those i just did on the Arcemu repack and they are all ascent commands...

Well technically, you can't call this a tutorial on making a private server for WoW, as it isn't hosted on your computer and accessible through your network.

I'd say once you add that part of the tutorial, this should be added to the site.

It is hosted on your computer...127.0.0.1 is what you set your realmlist to and 127.0.0.1 is your computer (localhost)...so no, your wrong...sorry..

Yes, it's a 'private' server that is not public...that doesnt change the fact that its a private server...

I'm just conveying the fact that only you can connect to it, and it wouldn't be too useful until more than yourself would be able to play.

Localhost is just that, local.

The words "Private Server" have nothing to do with whether people can access it or not. a "Private Server" is a server separate from blizzard. Thus making it private. Stick that in your pipe and smoke it.

As Sasquatch said, it is hosted on your network. It is merely not hosted on a wide scale network so that everyone can access it.

You may be right that the word server means

But, if your gonna go dictionary on me... the definition of private

You may be right that a server is meant for many people and to be run over a network. But, that is why they put the word PRIVATE in front on the word server.

Sasquatch, I've been GM'ing ascent servers for along time. I know that .levelup isnt a ascent command.

For the ascent server i was GM on it was .modify level 70 or whatever.

If you really wanna prove who is right and who is wrong just go onto an ascent server and a mangos server and try both variations of commands. Ta-Da problem resolved.

I'm really pro at both types of servers (not command wise to mangos) and I know what I'm talking about. Its not really that important to prove whos right and whos wrong anyways. I'm just trying to inform him.

I just made a video to show you guys its an ascent server...ill post it here in a few minutes...i used .modify level, and .levelup, they both work...i also had fun with other Ascent commands...this is an ascent server, period. And I'm just trying to prove a point...not md...

The video you have request has been removed or not available to your legion...

Besides. Some repacks put in custom commands. You probably have one. But the only original one without custom commands is .mod level.
