it doesnt really matter the kind of chip as long as it is less than 2gb and is an sd card

i also now have modded my wii although i am havin a bit of trouble loading things on the homebrew channel. i have put them on my sd card.... and it has them on the homebrew channel but when i try to download them to the wii it doesnt work...

You can play games from different regions. That is even possible without a chip. I can add that to my tut if needed.

The best one is the free one. "soft mod" This is proven to be less likely to be "bricked" considering you can always quickly update it.

Check your firmware. Are you 3.3 or 3.4? If so only boot.dol files will load with homebrew. The older versions were able to run boot.elf files. Let me no if this answers your question.

The homebrew channel "unlocks" the WII if you will. Alows wad's to be loaded. Basically its the starting ground of modding. The homebrew channel opens up all the programs needed to run backups and emulators.

don't get twilight princess for this hack. If anything, use the new bannerbomb hack.

If anyone wants to write a new tutorial using this new technique, i'm sure everyone will appreciate the new method. Unlike the twilight princess hack, which the team will not be working on a 4.0-compatible version, the bannerbomb hack works on all system updates, even the newest ones.

It depends on what Serial of Wii you have. Wii Drive Chip Database - Serial Number Estimation And enter your serial and the site will hopefully tell what you have in your Wii.
