| [TUT] Run homebrew on your wii! Here is a video that I found demonstrating the hack: Now, to perform the hack: What you need: - A nintendo wii (duh) - An SD card formatted as FAT16 - A copy of Zelda: Twilight Princess (wii) - Any computer that can write data to the SD card (a digital camera for example) - The Zelda Chainloader: RapidShare: 1-Click Webhosting - SD Card Format Tool: RapidShare: 1-Click Webhosting How to do the hack: 1. Firstly, you need to run zelda: Twilight princess at least once (don't ask me why) 2. Now download the Zelda Chainloader. This includes everything you need, and as a bonus, I even packed a copy of Tetris which was so kindly created by DesktopMan. 3. Format your SD card into the FAT16 format. I recommend you use the SD card format tool. 4. On your SD-card's root directory, create the following directory: Quote: /private/wii/title/RZDx/ If you live in Europe or Australia, use RZDP If you live in Asia, use RZDJ If you live in America, use RZDE 5. Now look into the inner ring of your Zelda disk. Depending on which version you have, you need to use one of the 4 files. If you have: - RVL-RZDP-0A-0 JPN, use rzdp0.bin - RVL-RZDE-0A-0 JPN or RVL-RZDE-0A-0 USA, use rzde0.bin - RVL-RZDJ-0A-0 JPN, use rzdj0.bin - RVL-RZDE-0A-2 USA, use rzde2.bin Once you find out which file to use, copy it into the directory you created, and rename it to "data.bin" 6. Copy your wii game to the root directory of your SD card. For my example, I will be using the tetris game that is included. Rename the "Tetris.elf" to "boot.elf" NOTE: Make sure you include any extra files and sub-directories that came with the game. 7. Now place your SD card into your wii, and place the Zelda disk into your wii. Go into options -> Memory management, and find the Zelda save. 8. Erase it. 9. Now go into the SD card part of the memory management, and copy over the lone game save to your wii. 10. Load your copy of Zelda, and load the first game save. Now you can either walk backwards, or talk to the guy who is standing there to perform the "Stack Smash" also known as a buffer overflow. 11. This will load up the game on your SD card. Happy Homebrew!!!! Also, I haven't tried this yet, but theoretically it's possible to run an entire retail game using this method.

| Probably encryption and a signature. Hell even those virtual console games are just ROM + HTML packs that are heavily encrypted, and they have quite the security because of some sort of signature. Wii Security - WiiBrew The wii also uses RSA =/ Last edited by Haxalot88; 04-27-2008 at 02:24 PM. | ||||||
