Ok, so i just got myself a wii the other day, i get the SD card, and reader so i can softmod via Twilight Princess method.. Well come to find out i can't do it due to my system menu is 4.0 (F**K) So question is, is the 4.0 twilight hack/homebrew Channel (HBC) out yet? if not is there any info on the release/progress of the hack? Thanks

Also i am not sure if this is because of the menu is 4.0 but when i tried to copy the TP Hack from the SD card to the Wii it said "The file might have not been copied" why is this? am i correct its because i am trying the TP hack on the newer menu?

Well softmodded a mate's Wii via TP method, he has the 3.4 menu system still so i had fun and all he wanted was to be able to play DVDs on his Wii lol

Well if it has to do with a chip I'd rather not.. right now i don't have a source of income so i can't buy one xD ... but I'll watch that video and see if it is chipless thanks.

HBC cant be installed on a virgin 4.0 yet

Also you probably have one of the newer ones with the modified boot1, so many of the Homebrew apps wouldnt work right right now anyways.

If you want a softmodded Wii best bet would prolly be to sell that one and buy a used one on Ebay, or just wait until everything gets figured out, which who knows how long it will take lol

EDIT: Actually there may be a way... what are the first 4 characters of your serial number?

Well my Wii was updated to 4.0 before the guy sold it to Gamestop (i bought it used) the serial was removed before it was taken to Gamestop. I still have my 30-day warn. but i would have to have a damn good reason to want to replace it, and telling them i want a older system menu (3.4) for HBC would be just stupid.. lol..

but i think i will wait until things get sorted out with 4.0 unless when my brother gets his, his is the 3.4 menu he said already that he would trade with me xD

Well Bannerbomb was released yesterday, and a HBC installer is on its way for use with it, so you should be able to install HBC very shortly

How did you attain all this knowledge about the wii????? Because I have one that I haven't touched, but maybe I'll have a project!!!
