Give Ubuntu Linux a shot. YOu can download it at Welcome - Ubuntu: Linux for human beings. I've used four distros of Linux, and this is by far my most favorite. I can really tell you what games are available, but I know that you can play windows games on Linux. Im sure a quick google search will give you the answer to that question.

To answer your second question, yes it is possible. Another Google search will show you the way of how to dual boot on your computer. It is basically a way to pick what os you want to run as you are booting your pc.

most windows games (especially DirectX) don't work on Linux.

There are projects that emulate them, but unless a game is built FOR linux, don't expect on it working.

I'm using Ubuntu right now, and i didn't have any linux experience at all :)
I'd also get automatix, its a great program that lets you install stuff that you will probably need, including Wine, a windows emulator.

I use it to run flashget & Utorrent :)

    w00t my 1st post :p
