xbox360isoextract.exe is much better than wx360. It removes the system update and shrinks the file to around 2 or 3 gigs instead of around 14 and works great. let me know what you thik.
This is a well written out tutorial, it's nice that you took out a lot of time to make this. +Rep for you bro. Little bump.
Is you drive flashed? Also, I was looking for a way to get the ISO fiels on my Jtag last night. I was under the assumption that you had to move the entire ISO file, not the extracted bits and peices to the Jtag HD. Thanks for this tut!
Frog 7s you learn me Notepad tutorial? I use it can.t. Sorry for English bad, for I am Troll. Oh yea the Image Browser in Xbox Backup creator does the same thing. And don.t quote me on this, but I think Magic ISO can open them too.
It's too bad this application sucks. If you try to rip the "official" Gears of War (Gears_Of_War_READNFO_MULTi2_NTSC_XBOX360-SuperX360), this is what happens: First you'll get a Microsoft .NET Framework error. You'll see this in the log window of WX360: extracting folder E:\Xbox 360 Rips\Gears of War\WarGame\Logs @ 1A5EDF (0) It doesn't finish. It won't rip more than about 5.5GB of data. I've ripped many other games but I can't rip this one despite it passing all ABGX360 checks and playing through it entirely in co-op with a friend via system link using the DVD+R DLs. There has to be a newer and better application for ripping games. Ones that won't CHIMP out on you. Edit: Just tried it with another release: Tom_Clancys_Rainbow_Six_Vegas_USA_XBOX360-NiG and it got stuck on this file and won't finish ripping: subfile : Arial_16.xpr @ 0xF7ABE, size 0x1D00C in E:\Xbox 360 Rips\Rainbow Six Vegas\KellerGame\Xenon
Silly question but nonetheless, does the iso have to be a specific jtag iso file or can I use an iso file people burn on disks to play on their flashed consoles and extract it to the external HDD and play on the jtag console ? Finding jtag rips are a pain and if you do (for example xbox iso) it's all uploaded to file hosts and it'll take ages to get a game and most older ones aren't there so I'd rather download the iso from torrent sites and extract them to my jtag console...would that work ? And should I delete the system update folder on all my iso extractions ? Or isn't that a smart move.
you are quite wrong. they dont have to be extracted to be played on a jtag. they can be played as games on demand as well
