My friend just told me today that he has had his PSN accont banned for about 4 months. He said that he was banned because PSN he was cussing like crazy, and was using a glitch. Has anyone else ever been banned before?
I've heard of people being banned but I'm not really sure how it happens considering there isn't an in game or XMB "report user" function. I can tell you this though; Some of Sony's games have in game moderators who are monitoring the games. I'm not sure if monitoring dies down when there aren't as many people playing though.
I'm suprised some nit pick people aren't saying that the in game monitoring is "infringing on our 1st amendment rights..." Do you think that its MW2 that has in-game monitors? **Just a heads up...Everyone should watch their language, and don't glitch unless you want to get banned I'm not saying that you will get banned, but personally, I wouldn't risk it if it was my account lol**
I have never been banned on PSN, I asked my friend (Who plays his playstation about 23 hours a day) and he says he has never encountered a friend who has be banned neither. But im sure there is a line that can be crossed somtimes that will result in a ban.
Honestly, I highly doubt any 3rd party games have moderators/monitors. I know from personal experience that Killzone 2 has/had moderators and a couple of my friends have run into them on Resistance 1 & 2. As for rights; When it comes to playing on the PSN or even XBL you really don't have any. Everytime you log in you're subject to each services respective ToS.
Quick question... Is this a good headset for the PS3? I am currently using a shoddy one, and it cuts in and out all of the time, so I'm hoping that this one won't. Sony - Bluetooth Headset for PlayStation 3 - 98095 headset
Agreed. And they have made their first generation of consoles have a fail rate of only 10% over the 360's 54%. But, that's the past for the 360. It actually looks like Microsoft is trying to fix their messed up consoles, well sorta.
NOOOOOOOOOO DON'T GET IT!!!!! i HAVE PERSONALLY BOUGHT one of these and they suck. THe battery went out within the first week. Sony sent me a new one, and that one also died. Stick with a wired mic, MUCH more reliable
If they cant see that banning people is useless cause it only takes 2 minutes to make another email address and your back on. Because of that fact why do you all even care
1st . Way to expensive to waste time to open up and mod... 2nd . No one bothers to mod it cause we are all lazy.... <_< 3rd . No one plays PS3 (Atleast not many) 4th . Offcourse its modable, you can modify anything electric...daahh <_< 5 . And yes i know you can mod the ps3... else i wouldnt bring it up, so no...you fail..
Well to get back on topic, YES you can get banned from PSN! There is no Report feature in game (that I have seen) but you can report people on Sony's website. "When you access and use the PlayStation®Network (PSN), all users must adhere to the PlayStation Network Terms of Service and User Agreement. Users who violate the Terms of Service and User Agreement may have their PlayStation Network access restricted. Click here if you wish to report someone who has violated the Terms of Service and User Agreement. Additionally, if you receive the error message: You cannot use PlayStation®Network with this account. (8002A227) This means your access has been restricted." According to Sony, you can get "banned" for any of the following things: Verbal/Text Abuse Cheating Hate Speech Other person's Personal information Abusing Grief Reporting Impersonating another user Spamming Grooming Sexual harassment Account scamming Impersonating a SCEA representative Child protection Inappropriate Online ID Offensive Image or Audio Voice Communication Blocking Pornographic or Obscene Image Community Standards Abuse Fraud Distributing Cheats It is not likely that you will be banned, but if you seriously violate the above rules it can happen. Hope I helped!
