Do we just transfer over the .gsc file or do we have to rename the modded gsc file to, "_clientids.gsc" in order for it to work? I have everything set up correctly but nothing pops up in system link.

This is what my raw/maps/mp/gametypes/ folder looks like

EDIT! Went ahead and tried it and it works. Might want to reword that bit of the tutorial to say you have to rename the mod menu you download to "_clientids.gsc". You just said replace that file with the mod menu. Saying you have to rename it would clear up some confusion. Nonetheless, excellent tutorial, helped me out big time!

I don't really know how you could be helped, the tutorial has been confirmed working 100%.

Did you try with a fresh new copy of BO2?

And no, you don't need the system update folder.
Either the copy of BO2 you're using, is bad.
Or, you failed to follow the tutorial.

OK, so since a lot of people have been asking how to install GSC in the Support Section and also in threads, I decided to make this thread. And also I think no one has made a tutorial for this (at least not one like this)
So let's get started.

I'd suggest you to make a back up copy of your normal BO2 in case you fu*k up something really bad. (E.g. I have two BO2's in my RGH, one normal, one for gsc)

Before you post down below "Not working, black screen", I installed a fresh BO2 for my self, and followed this tutorial, downloaded all the files from the links I have in this thread, and everything works as it's supposed to work.
If you get a black screen when you launch the 'default_mp.xex', you failed to follow the tutorial, (most likely failed in the TU18 files part).
If you're 110% sure you followed the tutorial correctly, and still get a black screen, I'd suggest you to get a new fresh BO2, then everything should work perfectly.

When you're transferring files to your Jtag/RGH, replace everything it asks you to replace.

Since you people that are going online and are getting insta-banned, it's because of the challenge response in The Tesseract V2.0. (You should know this because I linked CraigChrist8239's thread and it's obviously recommended to study a little what you're downloading)

So the solution for the insta-banning is removing the challenge response from The Tesseract V2.0 (it's an open source) (or using the older version on The Tesseract (not recommended))
And since most of you people probably wouldn't know how to do that, I did it for you
So if/when CraigChrist8239 fixes this and possibly adds more stuff just download the new version from his thread: http://www.se7ensins.com/forums/threads/the-tesseract-for-bo2-now-with-gsc-loader.1197876/
And if you didn't already realize/know CraigChrist8239 is the creator of The Tesseract V2.0 so all credit goes to him.

So, download The Tesseract

Transfer the 'Tesseract.dll' to your BO2 directory on your Jtag/RGH.
8c41b11e7a1f683ea4f3f9b78f884a22.png
And now you should have the .dll in your BO2 directory on your Jtag/RGH.

Then you need a modded default_mp.xex.
I'll provide you with one.

Extract the folder and you should have the default_mp.xex you're going to need.
ceccf985d24836a771dc0c1a25586f33.png

Now transfer the default_mp.xex to your BO2 directory on your Jtag/RGH
fcf84dd8279a4a12955fae87c839a891.png

OK, good, now you should have The Tesseract installed.

NOTE: Now if you want any DLC working you must do this step before the TU18 Files part (step 2)!!
Skip this part if you don't need any DLC working!
NOTE: This must be done before the TU18 files part (step 2)!! If you already have done the TU18 files part, do this now, then the TU18 files part again!

Why this part of the tutorial is not noob-friendly and step-by-step as the other parts?
Well it's because I was making it noob-friendly and step-by-step, and I had it like 99% ready (I used about 3 hours to do this) and then I accidentally pressed the backspace and backed out of the editing screen.
So, I pretty much lost like 3 hours of work I did to this thread, and I'm so pissed about it that I'm not going to do it again. At least not right now.
I wish Se7enSins would save drafts when editing a thread :frown:

So this is all your going to have on this, as of now:

This video was not made by me, it was made by TrinitySplashy.
This video might help you understand this part better.
(Even though there is now a video tutorial, I might still be adding my very noob friendly Step-By-Step text version of this.

(Quote from CraigChrist8239's Tesseract thread)

Now moving on to step 2.

Download the files:
Now you should have a folder with files and two folders inside it:
(Ignore my Finnish Operating System)
3b9a82ae0d95a5ce1ccd9187da7884ac.png

Highlight all the files and the two folders, and transfer them to your BO2 directory, as shown in the GIF down below.
(Ignore my Finnish Operating System)
e70bda5215467e01346ccfe2d5018d7f.gif

Now you should have all the TU18 files transferred.
Moving on to the last step.

Download this:

You should now have a folder like this:
(Ignore my Finnish Operating System, once again)

The 'gametypes' folder is for multiplayer, and the 'gametypes_zm' folder is for zombies.
If you want to change your mod menu/patch, just change the '_clientids.gsc' file.

There is two mod menus already in the 'raw' folder:
I have used 'Caked Up 1.8' as an example mod menu in the multiplayer folder.
And 'Gr3Zz v4.1' as an example mod menu in the zombies folder.
Note: I didn't make either of these menus!

NOTE: When you extract the 'raw.rar' file, you might get two 'raw' folders, you don't want that. You only want one. (So your path should look like this)
098ebba214caa0400f631b432058bdcf.png

So just transfer the 'raw' folder to your BO2 directory, on your Jtag/RGH.
2d3feb9e3886e6201a41e884b0d83a3e.png

Use the 'default_mp.xex' to launch the game!
Even if you want to play zombies, launch 'default_mp.xex', don't use 'default.xex'

You should now have gsc fully working!
Any questions? Post them down below.

I use Xbox Neighborhood on this tutorial, it's not a must, but sure makes this a hell a lot of easier.
(So you can also do all this with USB and XeXMenu)
Don't have Xbox Neighborhood, and want to have it?
Here's a video on how to install it: (video is not made by me)

Any ideas on how to improve the tutorial? Please, post them down below!
Find anything that's wrong on this tutorial? Please, post it down below!
Also, I'm Finnish, so there is probably be some grammar errors, please post them down below also!

Nice tutorial, this question is serious not sarcastic but what exactly is the advantage to doing all this instead of using Black Ops 2 gsc studio? Thanks in advanced Ox

You just did something wrong :'3
Black screen usually means you failed in the TU18 files part.

Damn, haha. I did use Elegance's files for the TU18 and when i try to delete them through Freestyle dash to replace them with the ones i downloaded from here my RGH usually freezes .-. Whelp it'll probably be put away for another year or so until i'm a bit smarter at this stuff xD

Alright, well I followed the tut exactly with no DLCs the first time and it worked perfectly. both zombies and mp menus loaded up and worked. I am using the caked up 1.8 and gr3zzs 4.1 that you gave us for an example. now after a fresh install, I installed the DLC uprising and nuketown exactly as you said to, then the TU18 files. (all this after the tesseract DLL and modded default_mp.xex) then put the raw folder in. game loads, maps load, zombies load. All the dlcs work except I have one problem. the menus don't load up. In MP, it still acts modded (unlimited class setup with no points being used) but in game there is no mod menu. the game runs fine like a retail console game. I am offline, I load the game from the modded default_mp.xex file, tesseract is installed and I followed the tut exactly. what am I missing? No mob of the dead modded :frown:

Are you sure you are using a mod menu?
If so, what mod menu?
Maybe try a different one.
