Hey so since you guys are all pros can somebody help me out with a little part of this? Idk how to know which wires I should be cutting up and attaching to resistors. So I found a cable with the LPT end like in the tutorial: I cut the other side and I find these wires inside: Here's a pic of the end I've cut off. Anybody know if this type will work? How do I know where to connect them as well would be great, thanks.
WTF? Isnt that illeagal? Also, dont spam. I dont know weather to alow this topic, as I have been wrong before. I generaly dont like the idea of hackers, unless its software cracking.

Still need help? It is your retail xbox information like dashboard and tells things what to do. You dump primarily for revisions and back-ups. More info here Then GTFO of Se7enSins
ok so i have an issue with a xenon that im trying to jtag. i have soldered everything and hooked it all up to the lpt but every time i get the can not locate flash controller error. i have jtaged two other xboxs and rgh a slim and i used this lpt dump method for all of them. in the past when i had this error i was able to solve the issue buy changing the lpt mode to normal and shortening up my wires but for this xbox it seems like nothing works. i have really short wires, no resistors, and i have tried re-soldering more than once. i have tried with resistors, without resistors, with and without optional pin 11 diode. with and without j2b 1.12 to the case for a ground. i cant seem to figure it out. i really need to though because this xbox is useless with out it. disk drive doesn't work so i need to run everything off the hdd. any help on the matter will be greatly appreciated

Thank you so much! I may take you up on that offer this summer. I've been in school, got work, and i've been producing some dubstep and learning to dj so modding hasn't gotten much attention lately.
but i have rewired it so many times .... could i have damaged it maybe by soldering it so many time ? i mean it still boots and everything it runs just fine. maybe there are some alternative points or something i could solder the wires to ? is there anything else i can do other than quadruple check my wiring ?
OK so I really need some help this is my first JTAG and its on a xenon. I have soldered it twice with brand new wires and solder. followed this tutorial almost perfectly. Except I put the nand wires directly into a male 25-pin lpt and that directly into my computer so i dont have any problem with the cable. but everytime i run the nand dumping it always says could not detect flash controller, etc. What else can I do? But actually before that now all of a sudden I plugged it in but didnt turn it on and the power brick is red. I read this is from a shortage somewhere but I cant find where and no wires are touching, no solder joining two holes. please help ive already logged like 15 hours into this thing
you shorted something out. double check EVERYTHING. if it psu turns red when you plug it in, it either needs a good reflow because you messed something up or you shorted something. this is why you should pay someone to do this stuff if you dont know what your doing
Alright I got rid of the short. Now the light is yellow and working. But of course, I go to dump the nand and everytime it goes through the 3 addresses and cannot detect it. Soldering is perfect though, going to a 25pin lpt male directly into the computer. Any ideas?
Ok, here we go. This is my first post to this site. It seems like I have been reading for months on here about jtagging. I just can't read anymore. I cannot seem to find any answers to my questions. My questions are simply: 1-Is there a specific direction your resistors should face on the LPT cable? I looked at the diagrahm a hundred times on the first page and I SWEAR it looks like they are facing different directions on pins 16 and 17. Is this true? 2 - Is it possible to flip the board over and solder through the bottom of the board? (through the correct ports, ofcourse.) I was wondering this because I seem to have trouble getting a good angle on the board and I am looking for a potentially easier, more free area to solder. I have been getting CANNOT DETECT FLASH a few times now and I was wondering if the LPT resistors could be a problem. Thank you and forgive my n00bishness.
