Hello everyone, I'm totally new at modding. Meaning: 0% experience or knowledge. I have been playing Halo CE to Halo CEA. I finished on all difficulty levels and enjoy H3 & H3 ODST the most. Still do. I only recently discovered the level of modding you guys are at. Well done. We've sure come a long way from H1 & infinite ammo trainers. Microsoft claims to want to give people choices with the sandbox experience, but they seem quite diseased to me in there efforts to promoted and produce this. But that goes for a lot of institutions. It's always up to the real passionate people to make something really great. I do feel this coming back strongly in the modding community. The video's on YouTube that impressed me about H3 & H3 ODST mods we're from that New Order website. I went there, but it seems deserted and chaotic. Opposite of the Microsoft thing in my opinion. I'm reporting this, because my question to you guys is, if someone can give me some starter tips on how to arrange my software & hardware, so I may make use of these mods that are out there. I'd like to concern myself only with getting tips on H3 & H3 ODST. I understand that: 1. Some of you (the reader) might know a good place & some good links, to start reading about how to get all the software, hardware & knowledge on how to use the mods on the games I like. OK, so I'm asking you guys for tips. CHECK. 2. I understand that I need internet, a PC & a Xbox 360 with all cables & stuff to play the games (including the games & USB drives). OK CHECK. 3. I understand that I need to do my homework in order to learn to understand how to use the mods and get the game going correctly. I need confirmation that there are mods available and working properly. (I'm interested mainly in making use of the mods and gaining more freedom, fun & challenges from the games, NOT necessarily designing modding programs myself. I have no skills for that. The technical stuff would depress me I guess. My brain is hardwired for feeling & playing, not technical things. I'm really looking forward to be able to play the games like the ones you can find on YouTube that the New Order put out there). I'M WORKING ON THIS STEP RIGHT NOW and hope to hear some good answers from you! 4. I realise to make this happen I gotta make some internet friends that understand modding and can talk clearly to me Next to my new hobby of learning to understand of integrating mods for myself. I'm not really a noob at IT, but I'm also not really average Can anyone assist me or get me in touch with some friendly people that like to help a fellow gamer out? You could copy and paste your knowledge and problems in the Halo Modding section. Don't ask me for information because I'm not into Halo. Thanks for putting in the effort on your first post. We normally get things like "I need g0d mod3 hax for halo for free plz" The post above links you to the sections I will refer to. Seeing as you have a stock 360 you won't be able to RTH (Real Time Halo) which you will see a lot in the Halo modding forums. First thing I suggest you try is a gamesave editor, it's beginers stuff but everyone starts somewhere. Tutorials are everywhere but it basically involves you moving the gamesave to your PC via USB, modifying the save with a program and then moving it back. After you've tried that you can move onto more advanced things like map / forge mods and even RTH if you get yourself a Jtag / RGH xbox.

I'm not an experienced poster but I am an experienced human being. Its nice to find a decent site/forum like this. I hope I'll be on my modding way in some time. Which leads me to my next questions, which I will need to post elsewhere aswell @Niall47 The tip about moving & chancing a save game sound like a good exercise. I have posted some lines below for you to read, but not to respond to, cause that needs to happen in the modding section. I'm a pretty patienced guy, so I'm in no rush to perform large of difficult mods. Also, I talked it over with a few friends of mine. Our goals are to increase the difficulty & fun-levels of the game, not totally giving it a content overhall or massive modifications. For instance, clearity about my questions and the clearity of the answer are very important to me. Though on YouTube you can find heavy modifications, I'm looking to start simple, yet, not wasting too much of my efforts on something I don't really have a passion for. My friends & I are not single players, we always play as a team. I'd like to play more as a team with mods. The bare essentials I really want to get into my Xbox, is accepting chances on the level at the points mentioned below: 1. Play mods in campaign coop mode to some degree, not ALL of the campaign needs to flow perfectly with changes. 2. Change weapon/load-outs & characteristics of the weapons/grenades/armour abilities that the AI uses, in campaign . 3. Change my human load-outs & characteristics of the weapon that I/we use, in campaign. 4. Change the number & type of AI in the maps, in campaign. 5. Change the general characteristics of AI in the maps (like shielding & health), in campaign. 6. Change the general characteristics of human players, in campaign. Some additional questions for everyone: Does this gamesave editor you mentioned, have anything to do with making changes on those levels I want to mod the game? Or, is my experience with changing my save games on that 'gamesave editor' necessary to evolve towards, handling the work that goes into modding those characteristics I mentioned? Is that a fact of life or your opinion? Also, could you tell me if these changes can ONLY happen on a Jtag / RHG Xbox? Yes? No? Maybe? Depends on... ? How much does it cost (estimated in Euro or USA Dollars) to have your Stock Xbox changed? Or do you just buy a different one all together? What are the things to look out for, when I go on the market for a different Xbox or when I want to change my Xbox? Reading material?
