Xbox 360 GTA V Realistic Driving Mod

    1. MOD DETAILS

    I do this modification for myself, but i decide, that i want to share it worldwide for free. : ) Speical thanks to Killatomate85 and his mod for GTA IV, which helps me a lot with some of the values for my start. Then it was only real car facts and my own formulas to import the facts in the game. I also use Forza Motorsport 4 as a comparison in some situations. : )

    So a long story short: I was so much disapointed, when i see what Rockstar do with the handling in this game. The driving is absolutely arcady and boring. Not fun and rewarding feel at all. For me, it is the most important part in this game, as 90% of the time i am driving a vehicle. I don't use vehicles just to go from point A to point B, driving emotionless..

    It is so hard to make such a massive mods like this on a console, because on PC, you can test in "real time" with special programs what you change. On console all the testing is so slow and you first have to learn a lot of things on your own, like what all the values do... and also ofcourse to have a driving knowedge to know what is your target at the end.

    Believe me, it was a big pain, doing all the 200+ vehicles, trying to balance "game-reality" structure.. There was a restrictions in GTA V and ofcourse many of the results are not, as i want them to be, but i can't do nothing more about it.

    SO, after 100+ hours of working on that big project of me, there you go!

    THE MOD INCLUDES:

    All the vehicles have:

    - Real mass and inertia
    - Real accerelation and top speed
    - Proper drag coeficients
    - Real grip factor
    - Real braking power
    - Proper suspension
    - Real tyres burnout time, based on the power and mass
    - Real steering capabilities
    - Better damage system
    - Better representation on different materials grip
    - Better wheelie, lean and stoppie factors (motorbikes, pedal bikes, atv)
    - Realistic boat physics
    - Realistic helicopter physics (not 100% realistic, because then the AI don't know how to drive them)
    - More realistic values for planes (a bit more time to take off for ex.)
    - Some fixes here and there, where Rockstar's values were wrong

    I change mostly everything to make GTAV driving more life-like.

    Works with JTAG/RGH Xbox 360 consoles.

    2. FILES FOR DOWNLOAD

    details: Imported TU13, more alive suspension and more chance to roll the car, small amout of grip added to all.

    3. HOW TO INSTALL


    Your game needs to be in extracted format, not GOD.
    Then extract from the archive and replace common.rpf, default.xex files and add update.rpf file, in your GTA V disc 2 directory.

    Delete all TUs.
    The latest one is included in the mod.
    DLCs are not added and not working with my mod.

    That's it!

    Always make backup of your files!


    PS: If you have problems with freezing during the loading screen, thanks to the user 1speed1, you can fix that, doing this:
    - Start Dashlaunch, go to "Behavior" options, then change the "exhandler" option to "enabled".

    4. THINGS TO COME IN NEXT VERSIONS


    - Tweaking things, which i find not right
    - Updating to latest Title Update

    5. WHAT I WANT, BUT CAN'T DO FOR NOW

    - Removing the ability to controling the car in air
    - Removing the ability to re-flip the car
    - Removing the auto-countersteering assist on the vehicles
    - Removing the slight auto-brake on vehicles, when you let of the gas, especially visible on slopes
    - Removing the handbrake camera
    - Removing traction control of motorbikes, because burnouts (not brake-pushed burnouts) and sliding are impossible now

    So big credits for people, who can help me on tweaking these, as they are hardcoded and not in handling.dat file.

    6. HOW TO KNOW IF I EVERYTHING IS INSTALLED CORRECTLY

    You will see that as soon as you push "Y" to get in a car. BUT please, give me your opinion after:

    - Drift (yes, finally drifting is possible) around atleast two corners with the Sentinel, or whatever car you expect to drift
    - Fly with a helicopter at least 2 minutes
    - Use an ATV
    - Drive the Seashark (the water scooter)

    I will definitely be try'n this out, also i am working on figuring out how to get handling mods back working again, with the new title update. for some reason tho, after reinstalling my os on my laptop, LibertyV has not been allowing me to import/export files from common.rpf or update.rpf.

    Your handling mod is well done, i like the feel of the cars. You chould tweak with the upper and lower limits of the suspension tho to get rid of the annoying bump up cars do when ever they travel over curbs and what not.center of mass needs tweaking as well, at least for all trucks, vans, and diesel trucks, that way if you take a turn to sharp, they'll flip, just like in real life.

    Other than that, your on the right track.;) I'll be releasing a newer version of my handling mod, as soon as i figure out how to bypass TU5. I know why handling mods don't work, it's because in the new TU R* patched the default.xml with a new one. Iv'e been working really hard trying to make a custom TU with XLAST and Le Fluffie but nothings turn out right.:(

    I'm still trying tho, so hopefully i stumble into something soon. I really want to know exactly witch file calls on the default.xml. Hopefully it isn't engine related, but it might be.

    Thank you! :) Yes, i know about how cars with small distance between the two sus limits, do the low-high ground cross and it is a problem with GTA V physics. I don't like the way with bigger difference in limits, because this way firstly is not realistic for many of the cars the wheels to go that high in the curb and second- there will be no diference then if every vehicle goes the same way over bumps. So for now i will keep it like this. In real life, sports cars also do this fast transition when in low speed. If in high speed, they bounce up from it. This is where GTA V physics don't work good and the car still goes over like at low speed. This is one of the situations where the invisible glue/magnet to the ground persists.... If only i can remove this stuped thing somehow.

    About the roll over, i put the antiroll values values as balanced as i can. A small tweaks in center of the mass don't make a big difference actually. By the way they are two fields for the mass center you know. I think the first one is for the center of the suspension, when vehicle is stoped ( E F G). Second one (Cx Cy Cz) is for vehicle moving. Actually i am trying to find some balance to make higher vehicles to roll more, but it is not so easy. Most of the times the wheels raise from the ground at every turn, which i don't find true.

    I know about the default.xml, thats why i use TU4 for now. TU5 fixes are only online like things, so.... for now it is not that needed. But good if you find the way early. ;)

    Really hated how Rockstar went extremely overboard with going back to the whole arcadey driving feel. Even Saints Row's driving is better than 5.

    details: Motorbikes ready, slight tweaks on brake power on many cars, damage slightly increased compared to version 1.00, some little tweaks on other values for better experience.

    I make it more clear in description. : )

    Works with JTAG/RGH only. Just add update.rpf file in the GTA directory on your HDD, where is default.xex located.
