I love the new patch. It does level the playing field over all. What Bach says about the players as a whole is very true. You get players who will try to use the most powerful weapon and ruin the fun of a truly strategic combat game. You can not say that the developers of COD 3 are going to listen to their community as much as DICE has. No one should be complaining unless it is a bug that they missed; then report it.
DICE the one company with the balls to tell it how it is
I think dice has done a great job in the past and in this patch with addressing a multitude of problems. Those who complain need to look into the bigger picture like the CEO said.
Honestly, I only have one complaint and that would be their matchmaking itself. If I search for Rush, I want a Rush game, not conquest/rush/TDM. I have noticed a lot less frag rounds being used and haven't seen any MAV glitches. I am a bit saddened I missed out on them for so long but overall I am happy it's been patched.
They did what they had to. The amount of people abusing the flaws was far smaller than the people who weren't. The only thing is now with individual servers it would have been easy to just kick players abusing it.
Oh and on that note, something needs to be done about the kicking. I played two 300 count rush games last night and made it to the last MCOM with over 60 kills, only to get kicked.
I definitely am pretty happy with the patch except I feel the suppression should be toned down slightly.
Gaming companies shouldn't care about every individual, because then they would be nerfing, updating and changing every little thing people complain about. They definitely made the right choice with the patch, and a very nice post by the temp. CEO.
With the new custom servers they released, would it really be that hard for them to have pre and post patch servers? Even if only custom servers had the option, they official DICE servers can stay on the new patch for all I care.
I mean, I personally, have played maybe 8-10 hours on the new patch. I really dislike it from what I've played. Sure, there are SOME nice new features, but I feel like it's a totally new game, and I don't want to play a new game, I want to continue playing the game I spent 150 hours learning the ins and outs of. Now it's like BF4, and I have to re-learn everything but the maps. It feels like new guns, new vehicles, because they all do different damage, ect, ect. Sure, call me an individual, but my standing is, they shouldn't have changed as much as they did. It's like a brand new game, and I don't feel like investing another 50 hours in game time, relearning all of the guns, and then have them release another patch and have to do it again! The new damage and change of what attachments do, is just too much. I have to use every gun, in many situations, to learn it, and that takes time. I cannot put a gun for one life, and now how it's changed. This is what annoys me about the patch. I guess, I'm going to camp the jets, and re-learn them, or wait for an attack heli, or tank. Vehicles are a lot easier to learn, than the guns are.
D*** he is going off on the haters. it proves the point that SOME gamming companies know what they are doing unlike IW
Although I like the patch, I don't like the attitude Bach has in regards to community and forum complaints. For example, he believes that Operation Metro is a great map, and although all BF fans believe it sucks he then goes on to say it is the most popular map, and a close quarters DLC is coming out because of it. The ONLY reason people play that map is for stat padding, nothing else, it is definitely not a true BF map as it has NO VEHICLES. Such a joke as even after the DLC, it will still be most popular because of how easy it is to boost stats...
one thing i enjoyed about the patch is fixing the usas-12 12g frag that was the only thing o was looking forward to
the only problem I have is the same as Duff's when I search for rush I expect a rush game, also the squads need to be sorted, when I start a squad with friends I expect to still be in it with friends, not putting me on the opposite team, but yeah overall it has made it better, and it evens it all out for everyone, you don't get the cod noobs using the most powerful weapon and running around.
Dear everyone who thinks this game is unbalanced or sucks check your online connection and how aggressively you are playing maybe just maybe you will do better.
I really didn't like the patch at first, just because I loved being able to go on 15 kill sprees with the MAV haha. And using the MAV as an elevator was cool, but I just adjusted my play style. I'm a beast with pretty much any gun now because I use all tactics rather than just snipe. So the patch actually did make it a better game for me. And being able to actually use C4 and claymores effectively now is nice, thanks to the fact that people actually have to spot them now in order for them to show up on the mini map.
I prefer to go around in a tank, and going for the objective and if my tanks about to die I ever kill the person damaging it or in fact just jump and run, I really need people to join my platoons(mainly blackwatch) so I can play a proper game and win
The only thing I'm concerned about is the size of the goddamn thing. I get home from school, just want to chill and play BF, but no, you have to wait ten minutes to download an update.
WTF would you put in an update for it to be 150mb+ ?
Another 50GBs worth of updates still can't save this game.
sleezecheeze - You don't remember the 2 or 3 updates that were over a gig?
