Such a stupid thing to investigate. It's clear what his motives were, he's said himself. These games are not the cause, because if they were, they would happen A LOT more frequently. Such a nonsensical route to investigate.
This is f*cking stupid. Be a man, take responsibility for your own actions, and quit blaming others for your mistakes.
I've heard of cases where GTA influenced people, but World of Warcraft? I don't think WoW can make you kill 77 people. There's nothing to investigate, the guy is just a psycho.
How many millions of people play WoW? One out of millions goes off the deep end and they blame the game. Doesn't make sense to me. Playing any game 16 hours a day can't be healthy, but it seems pretty clear that the guy was mentally unstable anyway.
Must lead a lot of Heroic dungeons to be able to pull this off. Bahaha, such a stupid excuse. Games don't make people murderers. Crazy people make people murderers.
His account got hacked so he went to murder people, how didn't they of that? JK. Don't blame the game, blame the player.
It doesn't matter. Millions play video games, and there are always some crazy people. Billions of people eat, and some of those same people are murderers, so no one should eat! That would solve the problem.
So, because he played video games which a high percentage of people in modern society do, they should be to blame for his actions? So now, if I went out on a mass terrorism scheme, I could go and blame it on milk? It's essentially the same thing. So what if he's mentally unstable? If anything, they should extend his jail time for that. I don't want to see mentally unstable potential murderers out on the street.
This probably offends a lot of people : “I would still like to point out that sitting alone in your room and playing games, no matter what the scope of the matter, call it addiction or whatnot, is not normal for a man in his 20’s.”
So Norway is saying that anyone in their 20s who plays video games has the potential to mass murder people? Seems legit Norway.
this guy played call of duty it has nothing to do with wow lol major fail Community Writer PROOF http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2012/apr/19/anders-breivik-call-of-duty quote But he insisted WoW had nothing to do with the attacks he carried out last year, leaving 77 dead.
It's been known for a while that he supposedly used Call of Duty to prepare for his attack. In the article that Sharp used as a source, they are questioning whether or not World of Warcraft had any effect on the man's mental health. Obviously he denied that it had any effect, but can you take the word of a man who murdered 77 people? I agree that's it's unfair to blame the game, but I suppose it is a fair question to ask. I mean, surely it can't be healthy to play a video game 16 hours a day for a year. You can't blame them for trying to discover what twisted the man's mental health so much that he took the lives of 77 people. Oh, and this was not a "fail" by the Community Writers. In this case, they're writing an article (based off a source), that they believe will cause a thoughtful discussion. That doesn't mean that they believe WoW sent the man off the deep end, they are reporting that some people do. If you want to call it a "fail" by those who believe WoW caused him to murder 77 people, fair enough, but don't blame the writers. Considering a number of users have commented on this article, I would actually say it is a success.
WoW didn't affect him in a way that would make him want to commit mass murder. If he was crazy enough to want to commit mass murder, he would have done it whether he played a lot of WoW or Cod or not.
1. All people that do mass murder have crazy mind. 2. Even with addiction, video game cant influence action toward people. (you can rage but not beat someone up ...) 3. I hate people that want to blame gaming.
